I don't think they will enforce them.
But if they do, and millions and millions of "illegals" lose their jobs, how would they have money to go back home, they won't. These poor mothers who work to feed their children will be left homeless and dead. And their children will probably die of hunger since there will be probably millions with parents who were fired for being "illegal."
I know some of you anti's will say "well illegal is illegal, they shouldn't have been here in the first place, they could have still been alive back in their contries." But that's not the point.
Wouldn't that not be good if we risk the lives of these immirgants by unemploying all of them if the laws are enforced?

I thinks it's true because you never know what could happen if all the laws were enforced, it wouldn't be good.
Nothing will be enforced on any significant scale. I can't believe people somehow believe that government actually cares deeply about these things.
p.s Immigration raids that get 100 people at a time is window dressing.
i think we need a new immigration law, not to enforce the current one. plus i can tell u, even the "illegals" are fired for being "illegal", im sure they won't just died in front of your house. they can survive before, they can now too.
Well, there's a question of cost. _how_ are you going to enforce these laws? Is it cheaper to grant amnesty to existing aliens and then beef up punishments and methods of finding new illegals? Probably.
Not to mention that none of these illegals are paying taxes, which means that I have to pay to cover myself and them. Making them legal would increase tax revenue significantly.
Well, they shouldn't be here in the first place! I hope they do start enforcing the laws! Start packing and start walking!

Because WE did not believe the government would enforce the new laws either.
Eventually, something will be worked out that will be fair to everyone, but this bill did not cut the mustard. No need to be too greatly upset.
We need to build a wall/ deport. Stop being an advocate to law breakers. And remember Jazz, 30% of our prison population consists of illegals! There are illegals in this country who've smuggled drugs. There are illegals in this country who are in gangs causing more crime/ violence. Crime rates have soared because of illegal immigration. It is the Mexican governments job to provide their own citizens with jobs. Understand? And guess what? Illegal is illegal, they shouldn't have been here in the first place. Or they could've entered this country legally! They are making you, me, and other citizens in this country pay taxes for them. Illegals are bankrupting schools and hospitals, turning this nation into a third world nation,bringing in third world diseases. How much more can this nation take of this insanity? 50 years from now, America could be looking like Mexico. So you have to pick and choose. Whose side are you on. U.S.A. or Mexico. To me, it seems like your on the Mexican side. Think about that.
Illegal does not equal immoral. Most immigrants are coming to America to escape living conditions unkown to most Americans who have never left the country.
Obviously we cannot have entirely open borders, especially with threats of terrorism, but I think we, as Americans, have a moral duty to help those that seek to better their lives.
I only have citizenship because I was born here - I have much more respect for those who flee their home countries and put everything on the line for a better future.
To answer the question - laws should never be followed blindly. There must be a good reason for enforcement of our immigration laws, and it would be wrong not to consider the practical realities of this world - specifically, that most of world's people live in poverty and violence. If our country can absorb more people who do the work that most natives wouldn't even consider, why in the world would we spend time and money deporting them just to satisfy an imperfect law?

How can you call yourself a conservative and argue that it is the job of the government to provide jobs for its people? Read the Declaration of Independence. It is the same type of tyranny against which our forefathers fought that drives people to immigrate to America today. "Taxation without representation" is nothing compared to the corruption that mars Mexican politics. Instead of criminalizing those who seek admission, make it easier for them to gain citizenship so that they have a stake in America!

So far they have been unable to enforce existing laws successfully because there are too many illegal immigrants. The bill was an attempt at a "divide and conquer" strategy, where some would have been allowed to come forward and pay the fees and do the paperwork to become legal, while others would have been deported. Since no decision was made, the problem still remains until they think of something better.
Yes, and we the people must continue to put pressure on our REPS.
THIS CAN BE DONE NOW:
Build the entire FENCE [funding already allocated] and Secure the border!
ENFORCE “ALL” the laws on the books including
DEPORT when found current law.
SANCTION employers who hire ILLEGALS heavily.
Get rid of the demand for the jobs and ILLEGALS will leave.

I'm a veteran who served honorably in the US Army - I've been to other countries where many of their citizens dream of coming to the USA - But never do because they want to do it the right way!
I'm all for equal opportunity, but if I break the laws here - I go to jail! So, why should you give amnesty to those who came here illegally! They did in fact break the law! I say send them back, but with the information needed to apply and return legally if they want! And that is the point! You allow them amnesty, then when I get stopped for speeding - I want amnesty! Will it happen? Dont think so! Deportation comes with the taxpayers absorbing the costs, so they don't just get thrown to the wolves!!
I don't think children born in our country to illegal immigrants should be granted citizenship either! How may illegals get tax returns each year that never pay a dime in taxes? I could go on, but for now I'll leave it at this!

ICE doesnt take people to the border and say, "start walking". you dont need money to leave. they will drive, or fly you home.

Dah what part of the amnesty bill failed you don't understand.So the criminal illegal aliens have a choice stay till they are caught or leave on there own.No jobs no pay no stay. Its too bad they are where they are but if caught give them a sack lunch and a bottle of water and we will deliver them back to their country of origin.
They need to work a couple weeks and save everything and go back home before they are deported. Then apply for citizenship the correct way. (assuming they have not been caught before and deported.)
All the bill was going to do was catch them and grant them a path to citizenship that required more than what they would have to do in the first place.
Our current laws should be enforced.

As a taxpayer, I currently pay for illegals medical bills, social services, and education costs through my taxes....
So are you suggesting than millions of other Americans are going to complain if they have to pay a one time tax to ship all illegals home...
