Do you think that the reason gwb wants immigration is?
Answer:
Rabid Frog whether she realizes it or not is correct. She makes a good point about China and India. The only point she is missing is our government LIKES illegal immigration because of the low wages and it keeps us in the competitive market with exports.Everyone did just what the government hoped they'd do.They protested the bill.Could you imagine how shocked and upset they would have been if people hadn't?They would have had to pass a bill that they didn't want.Or come up with some excuse not to other than public out cry.
Hmmmm. I don't know, but thanks for posting and making me ponder it.
Well, whatever the reason is that Bush wants amnesty, the American people will not accept amnesty, not now, not in 10 or 20 years.
that's a possibility but what it really boils down to are companies wanting their cake and eat it too.
and its not only how long something takes to get here but also shipping and warehousing costs too.
what really angers me is how companies think we can afford the things they sell if we aren't paid enough.
Not sure honestly, They do want cheap labor definitely but if people think we can compete against China or India in the area's of manufacturing and production we are sadly mistaken both countries have a very low cost to do business and even with cheap labor here it would be near to impossible to go head to head with the two manufacturing giants. We have laws to prevent abuse to workers and a minimum wage and a much higher cost of living and cost to do business and cheap labor in my opinion will not help as much as people may think and would cause a whole new class of workers who are working poor which would have to be addressed with social programs such as welfare, food assistance and other services. In other words no money would be saved.
I think it is so that the democrats will have some voters because if you listen to the idiots they have put up it will be a republican landslide
