How can we (my partner and I ) prove our common-law relationship here in the Philippines?
Answer:
the philippines recognizes common law relationships but not of same sex :D
to prove your common law relationship, your best bet is to secure an affidavit from several disinterested persons (i.e. your neighbor, househelp, friends) wherein they will state under oath that they know the two of you personally because they are your neighbor, househelp, friend, or whatever; that they personally know that the two of you have been living together for --- number of years; that the two of you are an item, sweethearts, lovers or whatever; and any other statement pointing to the existence of such a common law relationship.
documentary evidence is also useful---pictures, videos, lease contracts showing joint leasehold, sales contracts showing joint ownership, even an agreement between yourselves stating the terms and conditions of your partnership (technically not binding because as i said the philippines does not recognize same sex marriages, but evidence just the same)
basically, however, there is no need to declare your relationship in order to immigrate as all you have to do is each state the fact that you are single. if canada, however recognizes same sex marriage, then you can get married there :D
I don't think the Phillipines recognize common-law relationships.
video tape you two doing the nasty so they can see your together.
