Why do people say illegal immigrants can't get welfare?

The defenders of the criminal aliens of course don't want the public to know how much is spent on them.
The average person just thinks it isn't possible because it is illogical that illegals could cash in on US welfare.
The 24 hr. hospital birth costs roughly $8-10k. That doesn't even include babies placed in observation, which is usually a three day stay costing about $2k per day. Don't even include a c-section because the normal 8-10k automatically doubles. Any illegal can give birth in a US hospital for FREE because of the the 'emergency medical' crap. Since when is having a baby an emergency? That is a CHOSEN condition.
Technically it is just the kids but you are right, they get welfare. It would have been worse if the Senate's pile of crap passed!
I don't know. I've seen them at Children's hospital with government medical cards. I guess the people that think they can't get welfare are just clueless to what our government is doing with our tax dollars.
They also get benefits using fake documents.
The supporters of illegal aliens do not want anyone to believe that our tax dollars are being squandered on illegal aliens.
And I think some perhaps cling to denial about it, because their position of support is so weak that subconsciously they are aware their support is the wrong choice. Consciously, they must eliminate any obstacle to their support or face facts.

Yeah right, they don't get welfare? I know a lady right now whose husband owns an illegal landscaping business (no permit, no license, no insurance). She gave birth to a baby about 4 yrs. ago. Her husband gets good money, yet they still receive WIC and $120 a month for food stamps. The little girl also gets free Medi-cal. Of course you know he doesn't report his unclaimed earnings.
Some people think it doesn't count if the money is technically going to support a child that was born here. They don't consider that that is per child, and it can be quite a bit of money for those who have a baby nearly every year. Add free medical care for all children and pregnant women and multiply that by millions of illegals and their offspring--well, you get the idea. That's a lot of money going to families that shouldn't even be here. Not to mention all the other freebies that seem to be exclusively for illegal hispanics. And we are paying the bill. Well, the ones that can still get jobs anyway.
Interestingly enough, I spent three weeks in Mexico some years back and I rarely saw a family with more than five kids, though it was usually less. Do they stop believing in birth control once they get here?
Because they cant understand the word "Illegal". All people do is try to run around the facts.
They can and do...I use to work for Social Services in another state. People applying for benefits, filled out an application, if no SS# was given, the computer would automatically issue a dummy one. These people, born in a different country, unable to speak English, where then given Cash aid, Medical, and Food Stamps, the amount depending on the size of the family and their income. There are a lot of illegals in the system..And it didn't matter if they had a child born here or not.I saw many applications where the whole family, as many as 7-9 people or more, were all born outside of the US.
Because it would be an admission of guilt for many of them who are saying that to admit it does happen.
technically they can recieve benefits, but they should not be able to. It doesn't matter what your babies status is, you should not benefit from it if you are illegal.
I belive that if we all got together & started reporting those that we know are violating [abusing] the welfare system we probably would get some action. But we keep burying our head in the sand, there are agencies like welfare fruad. So if you're serious take action don't wait for someone else to do it
Actually, the us born infant will be able to get those benefits, when you go to the welfare office to apply for any kind of benefits the first thing they will ask you is you social security number and since the welfare office (as well as the dmv and most government offices) is linked to the social security administration it immediately kicks out as non existent. Most Illegal Immigrants are here to work and they pay taxes just like everybody else, except they don't get any of it back
The word that comes to my mind is illegal. I bet if you did something illegal you would not get welfare, food stamps, or anything wlse. These illegal immigrants come over demanding everything, even having a lot of babies to get a green card and get more money from MY taxes. I do not support illegal immigrants nor do I want them in this country!
The American born CHILD can get assistance but not the parents.
The benefits for the child are not the same as welfare benefits.
Acquaint yourself a little more with the Welfare system and you won't be so mad about it.
because they are illegal and are not a U.S. citizen. Welfare is meant for U.S. citizens not people that sneak into the country....if we let everyone do get welfare and do that our economy would colapse.
That is just so not right. What the hell is our government thinking. It's like just inviting illegal immigration. Come to the US and have many babies that you can't afford, we'll pay for the hospital visit and give you money for each kid. Unbelievable!
It seems like this issue is a deterrence of our country’s biggest issue (in which I will not bring up in this topic). History has shown when we face financial and international conflicts; we tend to focus on political scapegoats to steer away from our dilemmas. Illegal immigration is one that many seem to focus on.
Welfare fraud by illegal immigrants is a problem and many are upset by this. I do not think it is fair for one not to pay their dues and receive governmental services. Guess what? Illegal immigrants do pay taxes and they are very supportive of this economy. There are many loopholes in our social service system where many take advantage of, not just the illegal immigrants.
Some of you are making it sound like illegal immigrants are having the good life by bilking the welfare system.
They are here to do the jobs that many will not do for a lower wage, with no benefits, health coverage or a retirement plan. Without a health plan, they are prone to live an unhealthy lifestyle in where big dollars are then spent in the emergency room. Do you think they can pay out of pocket medical coverage along with the many other expenses, that we also endure, at below the minimum wage?
They are here because we, as Americans, demand it. We are consistently requesting lower prices on our food and services. How much more will that contractor charge you if he didn’t stop at Home Depot to pick up those landscaping materials and the two guys at the corner? We are inadvertently asking illegal immigrants to come here because we do not want to pay more money for those services that make our lives a little cushier.
Reform our welfare system? First understand the position of some of those people before we start denying food and medical coverage. I think I am more upset of the 12 billion dollar a month dilemma we are in.
you are so right. i see it all the time. my sisters daughter who is half white and American mexican, her father is the 6th generation born here. she went to the health dept the other day and was asked to prove she is a legal citizen. she got very up set and showed them her birth certificate and id's. in the end she said it's about time they started doing their jobs right.
