Can an American go to Okinawa, Japan and retire?

Its a wonderful place for anyone to live....

Answer:
You can go and retire anywhere you can get a visa. You might want to note that retired Japanese are leaving Japan to retire in Thailand and the Philippines.

Your Medicare will not cover anything in Japan. Treatment will be on a cash basis.
Well pal, I spent 2 years there and I didn't see anything that would make me want to retire there. Hot, Humid, Typhoons, Etc. Etc. Maybe you like the babes there huh??? You will have to get a visa and then ask the Japs if you can stay. They will say no no no no and no again unless you are a professor or some real smart cookie that they can use.
my son watned to go there. i know people who go to teach. it is not that easy. and you have to special register if you are accepted.
