The small amount of people that discriminate, do not represent the people of the U.S. or this country! As far as the policies it seems as though they go more in favor of the "illegals/Mexicans". That is why they are still here.
i like how you say all this and have no proof. it's a bunch on crap, it;s how you feel that makes you say these ignorant things. there are no studies on this. . .Why put yourself through the torture of being discriminated against and the backlash from citizens." no one comes here to be discriminized. no one should discriminate anyways.
First I find it hard to believe that you actually "hear" this from people that you actually talk to. What you are "hearing" is commentary and sensational spokespeople on either side that actually make the news. So first I think you have to acknowledge that disconnect in the representation in the media.
But I think what illegal immigrants are really complaining about are several things but mainly racism and history.
Put yourself in their position: Young, uneducated, poor with no chance of supporting yourself or a family. Literally a hopeless situation. (That this hopeless situation is often exacerbated by US foreign policy is also true but more complicated than the room here allows for).
You travel thousands of miles, coming from say, Panama up through Mexico. Hire what is called a coyote, give him all your savings about $300 pray he doesn't leave you to die in the desert -as many do. Make it across the border. Maybe contact a relative who is already here. Try to make it living under the system, clean houses, work as a cook, or a janitor, or a meatpacker. These are all very intensive, physical jobs that are often very dirty. There is no guarantee of protection that most American workers have. This means no health care, no insurance, no worker's comp, no regulation of pay or protection against sexual harassment.
You work your butt off. You keep a little for yourself and send the rest home to the family you left behind and never get to see. You try to stay on the straight and narrow path - the threat of deportation is a very good deterrent to crime.
Then you hear people ridicule you, say you are ruining the country's values of hard work and the American dream of a better life. People say that you should be shot or blown up as you cross and call you "wet backs" (see an earlier question in this forum, if you don't believe me). To you you feel like you are trying to make the American dream happen via hard work. And that these opponents of immigration only want to give that opportunity to whites.
The historical part is two-fold. That is that the US is a country of immigration, legal and illegal, and that this is no different. And secondly that all this land used to be theirs. And through Manifest Destiny and wars it was taken from them.
Just leaving is not an option. It is clear that there is a demand for the labor. Illegal immigrant labor, for better or worse, makes up about 13% of the nation's economy. Most immigrants do want to be here, that is why they risk life and limb to get here. (Which brings up an interesting question- if the situation were reversed would you have what it takes to get here and succeed?). I think that the sentiment is much more: "you clearly need us, we risked all and gave up everything to try and make it here, we have to some degree - don't call us "wet backs" and please let us have some rights so we can protect ourselves?"
In essence it is the very thing we would ask for if we were in their situation.
They complain because they CAN. PERIOD.
Our govt allows them to do so. Not only do they whine, they also steal from American taxpayers' pockets. And yes, again, it's our govt that is allowing this to happen. In psychology, this term is called positive reinforcement. They want something, they cry about it, and our govt gives it to them...and the more they throw tantrums, the more they get from the govt. These illegals are spoiled little brats! And now they want amnesty? Isn't that what we gave them in the late 80's? It's never going to be ENOUGH for them. It's never going to stop because out govt gives in all the time.

"~k~r~h" you are nuts if you think that most Americans want the "illegal/Mexicans" here! You have heard that 80% of Americans don't want the amnesty bill to pass! That clearly shows that MOST Americans DON'T want you here! GET THE HINT!
I really don't care if the illegals complain. They have not rights. They are criminals since they are breaking the law. They are not suppose to be here!
