What should a free country's policy toward immigration be?
Answer:
Whatever the people, or in the United States' case their elected representatives, decide it "should" be.
That's the grandure of democracy!
You must come here legally. Our immigration laws aren't near as strict as a lot of country's.
Just as the laws of our country say with the exception of the 14th amendment.......the only difference is they need to be strictly enforced!
A country is only free if we protect the freedoms and rights of the citizens.
When we relax our immigration policies, we open our borders up to non-citizens from all over the world, and we turn our "free" country into a free-for-all, leaving our citizens open to theft of public funds, violence and competition over resources, and the diminishing of their status as citizens.
You should stipulate whether you want a "free" country or a "welfare" country. There's a big difference.
freedom is for the citizens, not every invader that wants to come in...close the borders and deport illegals...that's my policy
Stop all Immigration untill they seal the borders ,then cut it back to 10% of what it was,and vote tancredo
Seriously...its a free country to the CITIZENS of the US...not to people who do not belong here. Although, what does it matter, they get away with it anyway.
It should be come here legally and pay taxes like the rest of us,no welfare,no freebies.
the fact we live in a free country was bought with blood . and people who want to come here should come legal and be respectful i don't think that's asking to much do you ?
