NO AMNESTY!! It is wrong, unfair and will bankrupt America.
The illegal immigration problem can be easily solved by ENFORCING OUR CURRENT LAWS! First 2 steps are to build the fence and jail the employers of the illegal aliens. If the job market dries up, they will go home!

They won't. As soon as these illegal immigrants are legalized, their employers will find them too expensive (since they will have to pay taxes and a minimum wage) and will fire them. These employers will then start bringing in the next batch of illegals.
The employers are the ones that need the severe punishment. They are the cause of this problem, not the illegals who come in to earn a wage.
no amnesty is not the answer. they wont fix their own country because they don't have the balls to do it. they run like cowards to this country and steal from it.

Umm--immigration is what made this country what it is today. If we simply refused to let the Italians or Irish in back in the early 1900s, where would we be today as a country? What does it say on the Statue of Liberty---

This country was built on immigration-and it is what is keeping our population up---while other industrialized nations are declining in population--look at Europe.
That being said--they should come in legally. I believe we have a right to know who is in our country and why they are here. There is a great article in the current Time Magazine arguing why amnesty is a good idea and how it will help our country. Something to read to give you more information.
This isn't a black and white issue. It is very complex. These illegals are tied very closely to our economy and getting rid of them--won't make things better economically in our country. It isn't something people are willing to admit--but it is true.
Our government is in panic mode right now. They can see that Americans will not let anything close to amnesty happen. Illegals are packing up as we speak.

Allow all Law Enforcement Officers to be able to ask for ID and if one is a Legal US Citizen/Resident. If suitable ID is not brought to L.E within 24 hours, then the person is considered an Illegal Alien.
Build the 2000 mile fence. San Diego's fence is the model which should be used.

If they come here and protest, they are NOT here to become U.S. citizens. They are ONLY here for the opportunity to succeed in life.
A worthy cause, but if the don't want to change their culture or their language and want to change our policies, they don't really want to be U.S. citizens. They should stay at home with their families, protest there and install a free enterprise system where they have opportunity.
They need to remove their elitist corrupt governments, their criminal police and their tyrannical military. They need to establish a free society and we need to help them do it.
If everyone who wishes to receive the fruits of their own labor comes here to do it, our population will exceed 4 billion.

We tried amnesty in 1986 and had the problem grow faster and more out of control than anyone every dreamed possible. How can anyone think that amnesty is the answer? Or even a viable choice? History repeats itself.
