Should expired passports be kept or shredded?

Answer:
you will need your old passport to submit to the passport office if you want a new one, they will ask you if you want to keep your old one and will punch holes in to it

good question.
Be careful with it, put it someplace very safe, and when you have a chance you can take it to the Passport office and they'll punch some holes in it to invalidate it.

I save all of my old passports, they remind me of all the places I can't afford to visit any longer!
I kept all of mine for souvenirs. Lots of entry stamps from many countries.
Shred. Unless they are kept in a safety deposit box.
Keep until you have the new one then shred
Keep it.
Who knows it may come handy in future, its your ID.
Your birthday, your picture, your old address, your parents
name and the day you travelled and where you were at
a particular day, etc.,etc.
