What do you think about legal immigrants?
Answer:
I love every single legal immigrants that I have met in my life. I love the diversity that having individuals from all sorts of backgrounds brings into this country. I love hearing about their heritage and how they lived in their country of origin. Most of all, I love seeing our country through their eyes and how happy they are to be here. It really puts all of the argumentative partisan politics and arguments of liberals vs. conservatives into perspective and allows me, for one, to be thankful to live in a country where I and my immigrant friends have the freedom to choose our beliefs and what we support.
i think they are cool.
I welcome them and encourage them to come.
Love them. I have not one issue with any immigrants from any country that come here legally. I have nothing but respect for them.
I have no problem with anyone who follows our laws, treats others with respect, and does not live on welfare.
Legal is fine, they get the job done because for the most part they come over here hungry and willing. They live the dream and work hard, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Welcome to the USA. But I also think we are full.
If they are legal immigrants, no problem. I only have
problems with the illegal ones, but if you do all of the
things you are supposed to to get here legally
Welcome to America.
They are cool people but they don't know how to save money.
To be honest, I don't "think" about them at all.
They are just like many other US citizens just living their lives. They do both good and bad (as any other citizen); so to say that I "think" about them, I would to lie to you.
However, what I can tell you is that many of the most vocal supporters of illegal immigration are legal immigrants. Probably because they want more of their family members to gain US citizenship also.
So maybe I was lying when I said that I don't think about legal immigrants.
Oh well!!
No problem! In almost everyone's history there is an immigrant from another country. It's the illegals that are the problem. Some say give them amnesty, but that's like giving all car thieves or muggers amnesty.
what do i think of legal immigrants? i think that most of them are honest , hard working productive, people that also pay their fair share of taxes ! i don't have a problem with the LEGAL IMMIGRANTS, the only ones that i HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ARE THE ONES CROSSING OUR BORDER ILLEGALLY !!! i think that ANY ONE crossing our borders illegally should just be shot while trying to cross OUR border trying to come here to live FREE as in free GOVERNMENT HAND OUTS given to illegals hell we cant get any thing free in this country. SO WHY DO THE ILLEGAL MEXICANS GET EVERY THING HANDED TO THEM LIKE FREE MEDICAL , FREE FOOD , FREE HOUSING AND CAR ?
come on in, the water is fine
Welcome to America!
But to the ILLEGALS: GET OUT! And quit multiplying like RABBITS!
Oops, I AM a rabbit!
i think they are fine. but is there a lot of those kind here?
i love the way you bandy the word immigrant. If you are not Cherokee or Sioux you are all immigrants.
immigrants didn't build this country anyway. Americans did.
Immigration averaged only 235,000 persons per year prior to the disastrous 1965 Immigration Act. That's only 47 million immigrants over the course of our nation's history. Compared to our current population of nearly 300 million, that's not much. And then, if we add all the people who have lived before in the United States, we are approaching a billion total Americans who live now or who have lived in this country—all of them, or at least most of them, busy "building" it.Yes, my ancestors came from somewhere other than North America. As did yours and everyone else's including those of the Native Americans. In fact, everyone in the world's ancestors came from somewhere other than the place they now call home.
In other words, every nation is a "nation of immigrants" and this meaningless slogan is useless as a basis for public policy. To redefine the world's boundaries according to ancestral wanderings would be a foolish and impossible task.
Furthermore, because a policy was appropriate in the past, does not mean it is necessarily eternally good. For example, if my ancestors were pioneers, I am not therefore constrained to advocate pioneering and expansionism as sound public policy forever.
I have all the respect in the world for legal immigrants. The desire to want a better life for you and your family, and coming to a new country and doing everything within your power to become a legal, naturalized citizen, is something they should be proud of.
I'm all for legal immigration, I also believe the laws should be relaxed a bit, to make it easier for people to immigrate to our country.
My great grandfather immigrated to this country in 1907, I've been told that my great grandfather insisted on his children speaking only English, outside of the home. When guest's were present in the home only English was allowed.
My great grandfather died when I was a child, so didn't get to know him, but my father said that one of his pleasures was flying an American flag in his front yard.
He didn't fly the Albanian flag, he didn't insist on his children being taught in school with the Albanian language, and he didn't demand the bank or DMV have paperwork printed in Albanian.
He chose to come to America and he learned to read, write and speak English. He did this while raising a family and working on a farm. Needless to say, I don't have that much sympathy for the illegals saying it's too hard to do it the right way.
