Moroccans in Spain without passports/papers?
how does the system works among those Moroccans who travel "illegally" to Spain?
How do they get there and how dangerous it is?
And what is gonna happen in Spain, I know that they can work and stuff, but can't go back to Morocco untill they get new(?) passports/papers?
So, how long do they need to wait for passports/papers (?), and is it possible for them to travel inside Spain anyway?
I am really interested in this (and shocked as well), because few of my friends are in this situation.. Don't wanna ask them too much thouhg, cause don't know if it would be kind of improper..
I really am NOT trying to insult anybody or anything..

There are many people from Morocco and other countries in Spain illegally and without papers. They have often made truly terrifying journeys across the ocean to the Canaries, which are part of Spain, in boats that are not seaworthy. Thousands have died making the crossing. This is because the Straits of Gibraltar are tightly patrolled, impossible to cross.
In Spain, I don't think that they are allowed to work, but the laws are not strictly enforced, and there is a demand for labour. But the pay and working conditions are terrible, and people often live in abandoned buildings, building sites, or even the open country.
There was recently an amnesty for illegals who could show they had been resident for some time and who could get employment contracts - 800,000 people benefited.
Many use Spain as a staging post for other countries like France, Germany, or UK, where they might be able to make more money.
It is a very hard life for most of these people.
