Arabic speaker's opportunities to get a job in China? Easier in Shanghai or Beijing?

Here is the thing. I'm going to China in August for working. My bf wants to go there and stay with me. He's an arabic- and french-speaking african with only high school diploma. However, he learned mandarin and has no problem in speaking and listening. So the question is.Is it possible for him to get a job in China? Will he have more opportunities in Beijing or Shanghai?? He needs working visa.

Here's our plan. He plans to apply to a language school and learn how to write and read chinese first, and then try hard to find a job while he's in China. Does he have good chance?

Answer:
Absolutely, and he is doing it correctly. Learn the language of the land. China is not going to compensate you, and should not, unless you show them you are respectful.
I had an arabic friends who was teaching Arabic at Beijing University.
