The end result will be millions of more illegals surging across the border and worsening the problem.
The only ppl it will be 'better' to is big business, greedy corporations, king Bush, and vote hungry Democrats.

12 million will be instantly legal. to be followed by a round of 30 million new illegals, patiently awaiting the next round of amnesty.
it will end up hurting this country. i also think Americans will start taking the law into their own hands. when amnesty was passed in the 80's people didn't get their papers right away. there are still immigrants waiting for those papers.
Try to vote for a new Party or President in the World who promised to deal with this problem at the next available Election, that is what I would do!
There will be a flood of new illegals pouring in. Once present illegals are secure as residents, backed up by welfare and other social services the Democrats are so anxious to provide, and they can join the union, they won't work for the same low wages they accepted when they were illegal, so the employers will look for new illegals who will work for the same slave labor wages and conditions.
Also, since there will be 10 or 20 million new potential Hispanic voters, the politicians will be the more eager to pander to them, and what do they want? More Hispanics in the USA! Bring in the extended families! Then the families of the families! So there will be more immigrants, both legal and illegal.
We'll need lots more oil and resources to support the larger population.

It won't. The number of illegal immigrants will double because since their fellow citizens *illegals* were granted amnesty, they'll believe the US gov't will grant it again.
Legalizing those who have broken the law and disrespected the policy of our nation have no right to be here. Legalizing them will NOT solve anything.
Our borders need strict security, our laws need to be enforced, illegals need to be deported, and pro-illegal/amnesty supporters need to move to another country.
It would invite an unprecedented flood of others to come here and make US National Identity eventually meaningless.
Within 20 years, the measurables that make up our Standard of Living would be lower than all of Europe and much of Asia.
Adult literacy (in any language) lower.
Life expectancy lower.

Good question kitty! It will inevitably lead to La Reconquista as hordes will continue to come into our country like a tidal wave both legally and illegally. When the millions of illegals gain US citizenship, they will legally bring in all of their relatives leading to a population growth of about 100 million by mid-century. The US will be well on its way to becoming a Latino nation.
Mexico will continue its colonization of the southwestern states, and the immigrants will drive out the whites, blacks, and Asians from those states. Our high school drop out rates will continue to be awful, and our country will be well on its way to becoming a third world nation. The rich will get richer, the middle class will shrink, and their will be many more poor people in our country.
The US will be closer to joining a North American union with Mexico and Canada, as a provison in the bill advances the S&PP. It will be, my friend, an unmitigated disaster for this nation. God help us if the traitors Bush, Kennedy, Kyl, McCain, Graham, Specter, and the others ram this down Americas throat.
Sorry I can't come up with any reasons on how it would "better" our country. Right now with the 12 to 20 million that are here illegally the stats show that for the most part they are a drain on our economy over all. I know some are hard working law abiding people but there are enough who ain't to make a difference. From an article I posted earlier from the L.A. times only 2% of illegals do farm work while 29% are on welfare. More then half the gangs in L.A. are illegal alieans. The majority of felons in L.A. jails are Mexican nationals. When they are legalized the 15 million or so can legally bring over up to 6 of their family members. So now we are talking around 100 million that will be eligeble for social security health care and all of our social programs. And it's easier for people to take handouts then suffer while looking for work. So I think it if passed in it's present form it will devastate our country. Destroy our economy we will certainly fall into a 3rd world status. And the clincher is to me none of these politicians really care about these people other than eventually getting their votes. I am ashamed of our leaders from both sides. And believe me I have faxed them all heck I would fax Bush's dog if I thought he could read. Why not just build the fence that has already been paid for and start enforcing the laws we already have! We legally imigrate more people every year then any other country that is all we can handle! When the "cookie jar" is empty of free handouts we will really see what we are made of. Heaven help us!

Change the system. If you make it easier to come into this country legally. That will fix the problem more than all the fences in the world.
