Given that all of Latin America tries to stop its own illegal immigrants, why can't they sympathize with us?

Because Mexico and Central America can use the U.S. to export its own poverty to us and make it our problem. Their economies in turn benefit from the millions of dollars all the illegal immigrants send back to their families in their home countries. They have no jobs to give them, they have no welfare benefits, food stamps, and all the other social services that illegals can get here. For every dollar an illegal pays in taxes it costs us 3 times that amount in social services. (educating their children, emergency room care, etc. need I go on). I'd like to ask this question: Why is Mexico's southern border guarded by its military? Why is it a felony to enter Mexico illegally? Illegal immigrants are their biggest export and American dollars are their biggest import!!
It really comes down to the same problem - too many people in the world. Few people want to live in a world with more congestion, more disease, more pollution, more noise and less open space yet people keep reproducing at too high of a rate.
The problem comes in when countries like the US take in too many people, which allows the 3rd world countries they come from to continue the cycle of unneeded reproduction. 3rd world countries all have two thing in common - they are a uneducated and breed at a high rate.

that is an enlightening article. they don't sympathize with us because if you compare the amount of wages that latinos make in any south american country to what they can make up here, they will make enough money not only to live well here (social programs that we pay for with our own tax dollars help them a lot, don't they?), but to send money down to their poor relatives in the countries south of the rio grande. in fact, the mexican government has been said to take it for granted that money made here would flow into mexico, making it easier for the mexican government to NOT provide the social services that it should provide to its own people. mexico, in particular, has always been known for its crooked politicians.
if you ever traveled mexico like i have, all over the country, in a car, you would know the true poverty that exists all over the country other than in the resort towns. the last time i was in "la ciudad de mexico," mexico city, in 1974, i was astounded that chicago and its suburbs' population was no more than 1.5 million, but that mexico city's was 6,000,000! and now it is 13,000,000, yes, THIRTEEN MILLION people in one city! it is so overpopulated that your dead are only allowed to be buried for seven years--after that, their remains are removed and returned to you to make room for a new corpse.
you heard, i hope, that only now, in mexico city (not elsewhere in mexico yet), women can get an abortion by choice. in the past, they could get one only if they had been raped, etc., much like what the laws against abortion were here a prior to roe vs. wade.
third-world citizens in general overbreed (too bad that the catholic spanish conquistadors were so successful, killing natives in horrid ways if they would not convert to catholicism), and don't we know what the catholic church says about birth control! (and know that since 1970, muslims have had so many children that they now amount to 1/4 of the world population. at that rate, by 2025, they will be 50% of the world population, no matter how poor they are).
but make no mistake about what i believe in--i do not believe in abortion, but it has nothing to do with religion. i don't believe in it due to how fetuses are torn apart, but also, the birth replacement rate for the people that are educated and have good jobs in first-world countries has dropped below zero. fully 38% of first-world women cop to the hype that spending the best years of their lives to have babies should instead be used to get diploma upon diploma. and then, they fully believe that they are hip and sexy and desirable by who should be their husbands but who are not, who are "dates," due to their executive jobs that pay them enough to purchase fancy cars, high rise condos, and all the amentities of such living until they become too old to really easily conceive.
therefore, the poor are becoming much more numerous than what used to be known as the middle class (quickly disappearing in america largely as a result of so much illegal immigration), which those overeducated women come to the stark and lonely realization that they have nothing in their lives than jobs that they despise and which they cannot progress further in: the men get the higher paying jobs, not them. because they are women.
and so, what sort of a world do we see? we see one that is overpopulated with poverty stricken people. why should the mexican and central american governments sympathesize with our problems of illegal immigration of THEIR poor people. isn't it easier for them to up and leave to come here to suck off of us, or to go to other south american countries to suck off of them, than it is for the governments of those nations to get down the nitty gritty and figure out ways to help their own people attain a better life?
now then, i won't talk about venezuela. i'll just say that due to little hitler, hugo chavez and his antics, i hope that the 12,000,000 illegal aliens largely from mexico converge upon his country. let him worry about them!
