A very very small number of people will hate you for these reasons. The reason they do hate you however is because they are tw@ts. You don't say if you are legal or illegal. People are angry with the government for letting immigration get out of control and for disregarding the citizens of the U.S. We suffer surveillance while our borders are open to people who live in the shadows.
I really don't think anybody cared about a few thousand people coming here too much until they found out that 4-6% of our population is undocumented. Also when you have to be bilingual to work at McDonalds, it unnerving to say the least.

I notice you didn't say if you were legal or illegal.If you break the law I don't care how good the rest of your life is. While it would be good if most illegals did what you do, that's not the case, if it was maybe there would be more support for letting them stay. If you're legal, great, no one I've met has any problem with legal immigrants.
The fact is that illegals are disproportionately represented in our prisons and on our welfare roles. If an illegal commits a crime for which a citizen would go to prison, why do illegal immigrant advocates demand that the illegal shouldn't go to prison or be deported. No one who uses a fake ID to get work pays taxes because they have no SSN on file for the taxes to be processed. If a citizen uses a fake ID to avoid taxes, or fraudulently get benefits, they go to prison. How can anyone argue that we shouldn't do the same for illegals.
