Current discussions on what comes next: Dream Act and Ag jobs?

"Reid said discussions were already under way on a plan to break out some of the most popular provisions of the package into separate bills. Among them are so-called Dream Act provisions to allow states to offer in-state college tuition to children of illegal immigrants and to help those young people who grew up in the United States and graduated from high school here to legalize their status.

Also under consideration for separate action are “AgJobs” provisions to offer more legal employment visas to foreign farm workers needed by U.S. growers. "

Well, we kind of expected that they'd split those off, didn't we?

Given the ability and proven inclination to 'sneak things in' I wonder what the actual bills will look like, don't you?

Answer:
We need to be extra vigilant and scrutinize all Senate actions and all other officials and candidates.
For example, my state is one in which the former governor Mike Huckabee claims that 'he believes illegal aliens who try to vote or try to apply for welfare benefits should be arrested.'
However he endorsed giving college scholarships to the illegal status children of illegal aliens to enable them to acquire status. He failed. He enabled free prenatal care for illegal aliens however.

He also criticized Senate Bill 206 by Sen. Jim Holt, R-Springdale, that would impose new restrictions on illegal immigrants in Arkansas. He said the bill could hurt the state's ability to recruit industries based in countries outside the U.S., such as Toyota or Nestle, a Swiss company. (If those companies want to hire and attract more illegals to Arkansas, then Arkansas doesn't need them.)

Fortunately for Arkansas, this man is now a former governor.
Unfortunately for the USA, he aspires to replace GWB.
The Senate members are not the only ones we need to thoroughly scrutinize on many issues.
This presidential hopeful released a book rapidly after the school shootings in Jonesboro, AR which essentially blamed working mothers for all problems involving children in an economy that generally requires two incomes to support a household. He capitalized on a tragedy.
We need to keep all current and aspiring officials under a close scrutiny and replace those who do not support our interests with those who do and will not continue efforts to "sneak" legislation past us.
Yes, but some of us will follow everything related to this bill to be sure nothing even like it ever passes.

Have a Happy Fourth Dar: You earned it.
