P.S. This is a very sore subject for me. My mother immigrated from Germany when she was 19. She had to learn English well before becoming a citizen. There were no translators, nor were the documents provided in German.
Marches for or against are spurious at best. nothing says spells out "LOSER" quite like a march. (i.e. when was the last time an anti-abortion march achieved anything other than a snicker)
i don't understand why our government isn't fighting to make those companies pay Americans the wages they deserve. Bush said that immigranst do jobs that Americans won't do. that's not true we will do those jobs, but not for $2 and hour with no benefits! Can Americans get a living wage..it is 2007

Dear one, i fully agree w/ you, foreigners should apply legally for every country, they must learn their language,they should not also receive more money then the people borne in that country.
I'm foreigner also, and I'm right now in some were in Asia, and i have full conscience of that. You may wonder why on earth i"m saying that? Simple. Nobody has the right to enter in a country, use their resources for free without even pay their immigrations fees...

If your march were successful and you got rid of all the illegals, who would do all those jobs the rest of you don't want to do? The wealthy would have no maids and gardeners and who would collect the garbage? Or could that be the reason nobody does anything about it?

And much of that money ends up siphoned out of our economy and into offshore accounts. Illegal aliens, over half of whom work "under the table" with neither job nor income reported (nor taxed), are not counted as employed or unemployed. But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. Zero Tolerance for Immigration-Law Violators! We must remember the lessons of 2/26, 9/11, and the costs we bear every single day. God Bless the U S A !

Just as I have complained to my local state politicians on issues. Illegal immigration being one of them. And answers are coming in or posted on the news. And in most cases I am bewildered as to how the h*ll I got Republicans to see things from my point of view and change their minds to vote in those issues as a good law that is fair to those who deserve fairness.
