while it is possible due to lack of enforcement to have dual citizenship the vast majority of the people in L.A. or anywhere else are of either one or the other.
I am not saying that it is a bad thing. I am pro-legal immigration. I believe that our immigration system is insufficient. I also believe that it is imperative to secure our borders BEFORE we start the path to legalization.

There's not a problem with Mexicans. It's "Mexicans who break our laws coming to our country and then mooch off of our social services while flying our flag upside-down and demanding rights" that I have a problem with. And Guatemalans, and Canadians, and British, and everybody else in the world.

Mexicans are great people that have influence much of the SW US. The illegals coming here are the probelm. It's you that are stereotyping the law abiding citizens of America.

I don't have a problem. If you are here legally. You obviously speak English, so I don't have to learn Spanish to talk to you and your employed. You are America. But you best beware because some illegal is trying to get your job for half of what you make.

One problem is many Mexicans who are trying to apply for legalization do not respect this country. It's was apparent with the two protest marches held, and workers walked off their job; Mexican flags were waived, and LaRaza is still trying to reclaim CA. This is the problem! Think of this for a moment, if you have a next door neighbor who is trying to claim your back yard, and wanting you to pay for his share of expenses, property taxes, all while being hostile to you, then would you want to invite his or her family to stay?
Americans are the most generous citizens of the world, and most tolerate citizens, but when the shove it in your face attitude and pay for my lunch, pay for my medical expense, and my mother in laws when she arrives, plus my children's education attitude just does not digest well. There are many law abiding, hard working Mexicans in this country as well,
but please answer or estimate the next question: How many cash basis non tax paying Mexican employees are in this country who are enjoying our health care, draining our school systems, and tax revenue? How much of cash contribution have you send to a stranger lately? How many children -not your own, have you sponserd, and supported to a school?
Sure some sterotyping exist, but it just may be frustration, and reaction of our wallets being taken without our consent.
Lastely, and most importantly, the word is "illegal". How does Mexican goverment treat the illegal El Salvaorians enteres into Mexico? I am sure it's nothing like how we treat the Mexicans in this country.
