We have already been warned that it will come up again in 2008. In the mean time we need to demand that local and state legislatures passes laws that prohibit illegals from using benefits such as health , welfare and education benefits. Write to the congress and demand that current laws be enforced. We see where the Feds want this to go. We need to stay proactive and stop this now or in 08 we will have twice the amount of illegals in this country.

The war has just begun, there are so many issues facing us now and we really have to be vigilante and keep asking for enforcement of all of our laws and to get the radicals out of our nation. Border control must be a priority and making sure our boys have jobs when they get back from Iraq not to mention ending that war! Wow, I get tired just thinking of all of it! But let's get busy!
the Democrats did not want to give into the Conservative compromises, it behooves them to wait until 2008 to pass this legislation. Then they can call it a victory for the Democrats and they will have hispanic voters in the bag for the next 10 years.
what is most despicable are Democrats like Claire McCaskill who switched their position from pro to anti, delaying passing the bill because they are using it to score political points in the future and as an election issue. I voted for her but I am really, really sorry I did. :-[

This war is far from over. I think we'll just simply return to business as usual and in another five years or so, we'll have about 40 million illegals in this country demanding citizenship or else.
I've got a suggestion for all the morons in Washington. How about Mexico fixes their corrupt government and gives its OWN people a reason for wanting to stay? There is no reason on earth why Mexico should be a third world country.
