Ive sent in my fiance visa paperwork, what next?

when should they contact me? what are the next steps? please just list a timetable of the whole fiance visa process from start to finish and please include about how long i must wait for each step in the whole process, thanks!

Answer:
You'll get a NOA-1 within a few weeks which basically tells you that your paperwork has been received. After that you'll need to wait until they process it (anywhere from 2 weeks - 3 months) and if it's approved it's sent to the National Visa Center who in turn will send it to the US Embassy in your fiance's country. Then she'll have to come in for an interview and a medical exam before she gets the visa. I just went through the process myself and it took me 6 months from start to finish. Wow that guy only took 6 months. I did this process 3 years ago and it took 14 months from start to finish.
