American cities with bans on immigration law enforcement?

The illegal alien crime wave ... I was horrified after reading this article ...

Basically, the major cities with the biggest illegal immigrant populations forbid police from arresting individuals, including known violent offenders, based on illegal immigrant status and from turning them over to immigration officials for deportation. And the sole motivation is fear of upsetting Hispanic voters.

Of course, then the illegal immigrant population explodes and (legal, taxpaying) Americans get a song and dance from Congress about having to grant amnesty because mass deportation is not a viable option to the illegal immigrant crisis.

You want to know something worse? Those are well known to Congress and someone tried to amend the Senate bill to make those 'sanctuary cities' illegal. It was voted DOWN.

But we're supposed to believe they have ANY intention of enforcing the law. Right.
