Did you know that through DNA testing, they've confirmed that Native american heritage is really just a mix between the Japanese and the Eskimos? I fully agree with you. It is not right that people assume you are here illegally simply because of your skin color. The debate must focus on who is here illegally and not what color someone is. If those on the side of curbing illegal immigration make it about skin color then they will not be taken seriously.

I'm sorry you get that response, it isn't right but in all honesty a lot of mexicans have illegally come over and given the mexican people a bad name with their actions and attitudes. It's a touchy subject and emotions are running high.

I can't speak for Americans because I'm not a yank, but here in Old Blighty immigration has hit dangerous levels. That said, people should verify that someone is illegal before tossing out a "go back to..."
Of course, if they discover an illegal they should contact some kind of law enforcement agency to get them deported.
Ignorant people think that all people of Hispanic descent in the U.S. are illegal aliens. You and I know better. I think the big reason the Mexican-American population is targeted is because the vast majority of illegal aliens in the U.S. came from Mexico, so in their small minds it only makes sense that someone in the U.S. who looks and sounds Mexican must be an illegal alien. Great logic, huh?
There is no shortage of stupidity anywhere in the world. But I have never considered the immigration battle a racial one. I have always argued that it is a legal battle and that our laws should be enforced. Not everyone feels that way and many take a stand against Hispanics due to La Raza and other radical grouops who started the racial issues to start with, so try to forgive them, they know not what they do!
Because life isnt fair deal with it. Non mexicans have been dealing with it longer than you. Just do your part in not being a stereotype of your culture which is irritating so many Americans.

Just tell them the truth and say "I was born here" or "I've never even been to Mexico." That'll make them think twice.
The only immigrants that I have problems with are illegals from any country or those who behave badly (but the latter is true regarding our citizens as well)..
Some people dont like the I am statement I am_________- American.(fill in the blank). They want your first allegiance to be to your country not your ancestory. It is great to be proud of you heritage but dont put it ahead of your country. Then you have people who just are bigots and racists. The majority on here who throw the race card are just trying to stir things up and distract from the facts. Sadly people like you who are of Mexican ancestory get caught in the middle.
I agree with you 100%. People are assuming because someone is mexican or looks mexican that they are illegal.and that's not only wrong but it does turn out being racist. It's really sad that people are so ignorant.
