How can you tell the difference?
Most of you say you are rude only to "illegals". Unless you hold a conversation with one how can you tell their legality from purely looks?
Is it because they are speaking in spanish, or german etc? Does that really mean they are "illegal" or does it mean its the most comfortable language?
Is that your basis for reporting them also?
Please explain to me how you come to this judgement.
Answer:
Speaking for myself, I can't tell the difference between "legal" and "illegal" however I do think that the laws on the book aren't being enforced and that the millions upon millions of people that are on the legal waiting list are being put out by people who come to our country illegally.
Language plays a big part in this debate (who wants to be called an Illegal Alien?) and social conservatives (Pat Buchanan, Lou Dobbs) hold a large part of the blame for not allowing the discussion to be elevated to a level where we can dispose of bigotry and general hatred and get on with changing the system for the better.
Until words like "alien" and "*******" are viewed for what they are (veiled and not-so-veiled bigotry) the Ann Coulter's of our society will continue this crash and burn mentality that they have so willfully and successfully utilized.
Oh, you can tell the illegals alright!
They are the ones who glance furtively around!
They are the ones who run HIDE every time a cop car passes by!
They are the ones hanging out on the sidewalks in front of Home Depot, etc, and loitering on street corners and trashing up neighborhoods!
well their are types of cards and forms that indicate legal status. if they have these things, not cheap forgeries not real ones, they can show them to the authorities and go on about their buisness. it would help their cause if they were here legally to learn to speak english. then again i think almost everyone one who is here legally can speak english, except of course the occassional german tourist.
If you're talking about Y/A, then it's usually because the person identifies themself as "illegal". In real life, there's no easy way to tell unless they tell you, so you never really know.
