He could have pardoned them already. Part of the problem is that he's such a butt kisser with Mexico. The Mexican government WANTED Ramos and Compeon convicted.
This is a horrible situation! They have so much evidence that the Illegal alien drug smuggler LIED in court, he is a criminal, Sutton's office LIED, other witnesses LIED and other ways the case was not fair. Sutton should be in that medium security prison, in the general population, instead of Ramos.

Yes he can . Will he , of course not . Not yet anyway . he wants to send a message to other border guards , as well as ICE agents , that Bush decides when and if the borders will be protected . That decision hasn't been made yet . Only when its convenient politically will something be done .

Some articles are saying the President can't give a pardon until after they serve the time. I think they are more likely to get a new trial based on new evidence from the Judiciary Committee investigation, myself. Bush doesn't WANT to pardon them, or he would already have done it.
Why would the President pardon them? They had a trial were found guilty by jury. Border Agents and Supervisor testify against them(Co-workers). Why would not one Border Agents not speak up for them?, that tell you something.
