He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says..... Thank you Mr. American for letting me in this country, giving me housing, food stamps FREE medical care and free education!"
The passerby says.... "You are mistaken, I am Mexican".
The man goes on and encounters another passer-by.
"Thank you for having such a beautiful country here in America!"
The person says.... "I no American, I Vietnamese
The new arrival walks further, and the next person he sees he stops, shakes his hand and says.....Thank you for the wonderful America!"
That person puts up his hand and says "I am from Middle East, I am not an American!"
He finally sees a nice lady and asks "Are you an American?"
She says, "No, I am from Russia!"
Puzzled he asks her....."Where are all the Americans?"
The Russian lady checks her watch and says... "Probably at work!"

That is funny! I don't think it's racist at all. A bit stereotypical, maybe. Most immigrants do work. But illegal is illegal. Laws and walls are meant to help and heal. (Berlin was a single city with, for the most part, one language. That wall divided families who’d never broken an immigration law to be where they were when the communists separated them.)
The only hope for the impoverished of the world is understanding this:
Two menially employed adults with ten kids can't afford the $200,000 to $350,000 per child to get them through college and into the job-market, earning a good income.
Ten couples, all with masters degrees and earning good money and each with only 1 or 2 kids they had in their late twenties and early thirties can afford that and more. Maybe a few trips to NYC, Disney, to D.C., etc.
Japan's population decreased by 20,000+ in 2005. Their aging population is unafraid of a lack of healthcare providers because (big surprise) they're automating it as fast as they can.
Short version: economics of poverty: an educated population = supply. People = demand. Babies + time = adults. So make sure they're educated and prepared for a tightening job market.
