I am a Nigerian living in Nigeria. I have met local agents here but some things they ask for don't seem to match information that is online about HSMP. So I am not willing to take the risk of trying them cos of cost et al For instance, when I was given a run down of the process, I heard nothing about document verification by UK NARIC. Something I have read to be an absolute must. I asked about it and was given a blank stare.
I need a UK based consultant but being here gives me room to be sure that they are who they say they are.
I have read extensively questions and answers on this forum and nobody seems to worry about being swindled. Why is everyone so sure? How can I be as sure?

Many are swindled coming to the US, I can't imagine it doesn't happen going through the UK. Why don't you work directly with the employers and agencies? Do you really need an agent?
