How often have we heard the pro-illegal-alien crowd as well as other 'clueless' Americans repeat the mantra "after all we are a nation of immigrants, aren't we?" The answer to that question is a loud and incontrovertible, NO! Most Americans today are NATIVE BORN and therefore NOT IMMIGRANTS! What is left unsaid in the above phrase is the significant fact that our American ancestors came to this country as LEGAL immigrants, which is the antithesis of the current invasion of ILLEGAL ALIENS supported by the open borders, pro-illegal alien crowd! The mantra "a nation of immigrants" is an inaccurate 'branding' of our current American culture and society. It is an incantation that contains substantial disinformation, some subtle, some blatant, which never seems to receive any scrutiny or debate.

The immigrants that produced my parents are dead. My great great grandfather came over from Ireland and settled in the mountains of North Carolina. It is up to the fruits of his loins to carry on and maintain freedom in this country.

Where are they now? They're everywhere. If you aren't a Native American, look in the mirror. You are the descendant of immigrants. You know, the people who build the canals and railways so America's economy could grow. The people who signed up to fight in the Civil War as soon as they got off the boats. sorry, I'm not an immigrant. my ancestors who came over here from another country dies hundreds of years ago, he and his wife came in 1620. i was born here, people can say what they want. I'm a true born American of the United States of America.
well i for one ain't a immigrant neither is my mom and dad and their mom and dad and so on. i had family at one time that was immigrants, but that doesn't make be a immigrant. maybe people should look the definition up to see what it really means. and that would make millions of us not immigrants.
