If I plan on being in the US for less than 24 hours, how much stuff can I bring back without claiming it?

I'm a Canadian and I'm planning on going there to shop for clothes next week. How much, per person, is allowed to come back with you without having to claim it?
Thanks!

Answer:
You only can claim up to $50 CAN for your visit. After $50 CAN you will have to pay duty.
you must "claim" everything, and the limit is 60 dollars Canadian if you are under 48 hours out of the country. 400 dollars if you are out of country for more.
