Why do the pro-illegals keep insisting amnesty will pass?
Here's a good example.

Answer:
wishful thinking and pipe dreams.
Who needs to deport them, all we have to do is pass the same laws as Arizona and then enforce the laws on a state level.
Once they stop getting jobs and are denied welfare they will be forced to go home and do things the right way.
what makes you think over 12, or as you like to say 35 million people are going to get deported?
see you problem is that you think anything is amnesty based on your prejudices.
everyone can complain and point everything out but there has to be a compromise on both sides...
Wishful thinking or just denial as you said.
and what did you get for defeating it? another 2 million will come here before the 2008 election and nothing will be done until after that.
Because we have been doing it for the last 60 years? What makes you think anything will be different? Its business as usual.Sorry to burst your bubble.
They are hoping that we will grow tired of opposing it allowing it to sneak through......Thats all they have to talk about other than racism...
False hope.
I do think amnesty should be given to people who have just turned 18 in the past few months, and their parents had brought them here illegally when they were children. They have been here most of their life. They should not have to be deported or made to go to their country. I would have supported a bill that gave these types of illegals amnesty.
All the others, I have no sympathy for. They either came here illegally or stayed here illegally after their visas expired. All they had to do was renew it and keep going. Then some of them just did not have legitimate jobs so they could not provide info required by the immigration dept. so they didn't. Or some of them simply did not file moving forms or job change forms.
It's just wishful thinking on their part. The America people have spoken on this issue and it is indeed dead, until Hilary and Bill are elected in 2008. Then, the US becomes a socialist country where these jokers willl pass laws to revive not only that bill, but pass a host of others that wil redistribute wealth, weaken the military and intelligence agencies.
because they own the candidates.
Well probably because the more times it IS brought up the more likely some stupid moron will get tired of seeing it and change his or her vote.
From a purely practical point of view, 12 million people will create a hell of a traffic jam.
I'm not in favor of amnesty, but we are living in a time when it takes months to get a passport, the government is full of political appointees who can't get it together to do the things to keep illegal aliens out by following the laws already on the books.
Thinking we could transplant some twelve million men women and children across the river is blind foolishness.
We need to stop thinking in circles, and come up with some new ideas, and they have to realize that if they want citizenship its going to have to be in English.
They are in serious DENIAL! All they do is whine about race . I guess they just don't have the IQ to understand that it's about them being here breaking the law. They don't understand that it is not only the illegal Mexicans, they are just the majority. Some day they'll get it!
BECAUSE IT WILL!!!!!!!!!
VIVA MEXICO Y LA RAZA MEXICANA!!
PROUD TO BE MEXICAN!!!!!!!!!
Because so many of our leaders in government want to give amnesty. They're giving them hope. And it seems as long as we don't pass a bill addressing it, they are getting a type of amnesty because our government won't enforce the current laws on the books. Now they don't want to bring it up again because there's an election looming and it could hurt their votes. It's insane and we should all still be writing our senators telling them to deport them now.
The reason is this:
Those of us who are old enough to have been through all this before - some of us several times - know that the ONLY thing that ever happens is amnesty. That's the way it is.
It is impossible to find, roundup and deport 12 million people. That is more than the combined population of Colorado, Arizona and Nevada - and MORE than the entire country of Denmark..
I personally have been witness to this immigration think 3 times in my life.I'm an old cookie. and amnesty is what happens.
Do you know that the President has the power to declare amnesty without the involvement of the House? Well, he does...or she does, as the case may be.
The bill that was defeated in the House was only there because it was asking for REFORM and CHANGE in the immigration LAWS. Congress must approve that. But the president can declare blanket amnesty anytime he wants.
Anyone want to take any bets that Bushie will do it before he leaves office??
They pretty much have it seeing how the government welcomes them and lets them stay and receive benefits and doesn't attempt to get rid of them.
I do not support amnesty, but sadly the numbers and the supporters such as our own president and a good numbers of our elected officials are not on our side, so a piece meal immigration bill will be passed in sections. Such as the Dream Act that not only give financial aid to the illegals but grant them the green card at a latter date. I live in Miami, and I have watched the Cubans arrive in the 60's with the clothes on their backs, and have transformed Miami from a American city to one that is clearly a Hispanic city, for good or bad depending on where you stand. I remember when a English Only bill was voted on and passed by the citizens, and the 30 years later that bill be over turned during a county hearing. I know I am a pessimist my nature but also a realist, and this is just the beginning a Hispanic country.
It seems like past amnesties were a huge factor in creating this mess. Obviously, amnesty does not work and with the track record it's got, there is no use in doing it again.
I was disappointed when I looked at the potential candidates. I was kind of hoping to vote for a Democrat because we need a some balance with the fundamentalist crowd, but every one of them was pro amnesty. They can forget my support.
Solving the problem is no big deal. Verification of status upon employment. Employers moan but all it would take is a simple data base to compare papers against records. With the Internet it could quickly be made available to all who need it. Illegal immigration will dry up when the jobs do.
Given that the Senate tried to keep it secret until 19 June and the results, immigration is going to be the key issue in the next election. It will likely push some front runners out of the game.
my own Spanish teacher does not like the idea and this because they are selfish and don't want to learn English etc she said that she has talked to some. now she has known some to just come over here and go back on there own but the others 99% are worthless. I am all for being nice and giving but if this is abused then hell take it away and make them all go1 and who was stopping them not the border patrol but civilians and they are the ones in trouble because leaders are head dead. (that was a quote from rush limbah) radio show.
i have meet some and they try to act like anybody there around black, white, etc. and then SOME NOT ALL start violence we don't need.
now if we can get the government to stop this non0sence and keep the pressure on them we might discourage it.
but wait what about the bill or rights etc!> No they are illegal and this is where the line is put and full predates should be taken. it one gets hurt help them and then off with them. (another quote from the radio talk shows.)
let the legels stay and live happy but out with the rest
There in denial . they will be deported or will leave, No jobs,no pay, no stay. They didn't get here over night so they won't leave over nite.AZ is the poster child for the first step.
I will say this once and for all: Amnesty(yes full amnesty) will happen in 2008-2009(early in the year). Already the top 5 presidential candiates are saying they will try and pass it.
It's mushrooms, it's tequila, it is something hallucinogenic. Maybe they buy into the "fake it til you make it " mentality.
Just a few weeks ago they were all posting about amnesty. At Atzlan. Both have seemed to die down in the face of reality.
Somehow they ignore the reality that the democratic controlled Congress actually voted against it. That the American people have spoken out vehemently to get their position heard.
Thats OK. With mroe and more states, cities and municipalities now saying "enough is enough".it will get harder and harder and harder for them to deny the reality and gravity of the situation.
Thankfully.
The best thing illegal alien invaders in this country can do now is leave while they can. Mood in the nation is changing. As more people misunderstand misinterpret and, some disrespect, American Patriots' position, our resolve becomes more galvanized for change in the current situation of lawlessness and descent into anarchy.
We the American People will not be denied. It is beyond my control or yours. American Citizens or its unity will be defending their freedom. They will not yield and no accusations of racism or other charges anyone can make will change or alter their direction now.
Like their Aztlan - it's all a fantasy. I can picture them all in little red shoes, clicking the heels together, little munchkins gathered all around, and repeating to themselves - "There's no place like amnesty. There's no place like amnesty".
If we paint them a yellow brick road, will they follow to where it leads them.
Because the corruption of our politicians give them hope. Congressmen who support the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill seem to forget that their responsibility is to US citizens not to mojados including those who answer in all UPPER CASE letters.
