wow its like junior highschool in here. someone say something to bait others and you always have a long list of people who feel the urge to respond and with insults. So much for a country of tolerance since when did it still become an insult to referr to someone as gay? because frankly from the the answers I read that is what comes across. Well to answer your question I did go see that movie and it wasn't really to my liking,seem too much like a soap opera. Though the acting was very good. And i highly doubt it was inspired by the minutemen because it took place nowhere near the border. Well hope that answered your question,now you may resume you regularly scheduled insulting and taunting back and forth.

I know it was based on a book of the same name, but I have no idea if the author got her inspiration from the Minutemen.
There is a western gear store near where I live that put up a new sign when that movie came out. All it said, without specific reference to the movie was:
"They ain't cowboys, they's sheepherders."
They ain't Minutemen, either, although if gay Americans wanted to be Minutemen, I don't know that there would be a problem with that.

The movie is ok and was over rated by many just because it was a so called first for the gay big screen love scenes while there are many other gay themed movies out there. with famous actors...thinking of Robert Williams, Tom selleck, Patrick Swazey, Russle Crowe....

If you want a racist organization, check out La Raza, MALDEF, L.U.L.A.C, some of those people. The Minutemen are actually made up of a number of people from different backgrounds and areas of the country. They consist of husbands/wife's, Doctors, Lawyers, Lawmen, Military Retirees, etc. The fact is they are ALL American Citizens who are concerned about protecting our Borders and the tidal wave being pushed on us by the Mexican Government to take care of it's citizens.

No, Alberto.....I believe the Movie Brokeback Mountain was inspired by the Racist Organization called La Raza. if you think about it, these La Raza men are all alone in the middle of the desert sharing how much they love each other. Since there's no criminal background check, a lot of these criminals may and could have spent nearly all their lives growing up in, behind, and around bars which they acquired "certain" habits in order to satisfy their natural human "love necessities."
