I think it's a good thing. The bill was completely absurd. Why must good hardworking Americans pay for the citizenship of people who broke the law to get here? If they want to come to America let them do it like the rest of us, not have it given to them.

I think the people are wise enough finally to understand that no reform for immigration is going to be useful unless we secure the borders properly and enforce the laws we already have. Plus, this particular bill does would have done nothing but further burden the taxpayers to pay the bills for those who would break our laws and not even have the respect to come here legally. When you are documented and paying taxes just like everyone else, and aren't here for any other reason than to make a good life for yourself in a place that you feel is a good place in the world, then you are welcome here. Come one come all!

Illegal Immigration is like theft, very much like theft. Where people are stealing our tax payer's money for their own healthcare, taking jobs away from people who are here legally and utilizing our precious resources.
Without a proper count on the number of people that are actually in the USA it's virtually impossible for our government to protect us in time's of crisis. For example, an area that has a specific population has a specific number of allocated resources for fire department, police and ambulance services. When we don't know how many people are in the area, we're only screwing ourselves over if an emergancy happens.
This doesn't just apply to illegal hispanics either, it applies to ALL illegal immigrants. I think they should be sniffed out and deported. My family came over from Europe legally. Your family can come in legally too. Don't want to pay our taxes and think life's just better illegally? Tough. Bye Bye we do not need you stealing from us anymore.

It just goes to prove all of the marches that the Illegals did just polarized their situation...Until the marches of last year, I had no idea that there were that many Illegals...I just thought it was something people were saying...that was when I was like..."...that many want right for breaking our laws..." That was when I became Anti-Illegal...my wife is a Legal Colombian Immigrant and she was actually surprised too...a day with out Mexicans, was just another day...I am glad to see that Americans of all colors called, wrote, faxed, emailed their Senators to stop this...now ICE has more time to do raid to cut down the number...and trust me, it will increase, because now they know where they are at...has anyone noticed they are raiding in areas that they marched? WAY TO GO...to the Senators that stood up to the Bleeding Hearts and did what the majority of Americans wanted...

It was a bad bill and deserved to be defeated. BUT the people must not stop. WE need to demand that the laws are enforced. We need to push our local politicians to pass laws concerning local businesses who hire illegals. WE need to demand that they stop tax abatement for those hiring illegals. WE need to know who is hiring illegals and stop giving those businesses our money. We need to demand our state legislatures to pass laws that do not give free medical services, education and welfare benefits to illegals. WE can talk with letters, our money and our votes. We can demand that the current laws are enforced. We have let the politicians divide us into lib and cons when most Americans fall in the middle. We need to stand united and stop listening to those that want to divide and conquer. Make politicians say what they are for and how they will accomplish it. Stop listening to them when they tell us what is wrong with the other guy.
