It might work if all the illegals lived in border cities. But they don't and there are way to many for the job. I think all illegals should be returned to their country of origin. No exceptions, close our borders and make people apply for legal immigration. They should be given a back ground check and anyone with a criminal record or anyone who has received benefits from this country illegally should not be allowed to return. All the children born here illegally should have to apply also. I shouldn't be legal to gain citizenship only because you were in this country when you were born.

i would love to have seen American had there be no 'illegal immigrants" here. First of all it would be totally inhabited by the native Americans all the rest of us came here so watch your tone when discussing the Mexicans after all American stole most of Mexican land as well. we have done alot to foreigners and yet we go wherever we want to set up and live there to. get educated before answering this question
Your idea sounds good on the surface, but there is no answer to this question as long as the Republicans or Democrats are in charge. Both parties are controlled by big business, so nothing will change. It will be just like it is now 10 years from now, or until we get a third party in control.
It would be more useful if the Mexican government did that, then the citizens of Mexico would be patrolling the correct side of the border.
I'm not holding my breath. I do not have a high opinion of the government of Mexico. I think the, ahem, lobbyists have too big an influence in the Halls of Montezuma.
Because even if you hired them and put them in charge of Border Patrol you idiot ~ that would still put them at an advantage and they would allow more illegals to get pass the border into the US.
