A known islamic fundamentalist preacher who wants to buy your property as a dowry for his daughter who will be marrying a hill farmer from one of the ‘stans. He has marked a nearby plot of land as a good site for a mosque.

The Islamic preacher would be my pick. It is a pretty good bet that they will keep the property nice, be quiet and unobtrusive neighbors, and will not be able to build a mosque in a residential neighborhood.
If you sell to the scum you will decrease the value of adjacent properties, cause more angst in the neighborhood, and feel responsible for inflicting danger and upset upon your former friends and neighbors.

There is too much missing info in the question. Are they both offering the same price? If so, are you a law abiding citizen? If so, you must sell to the first person who made the offer. You could inform both parties of the mutual offer and have a bidding war. Highest offer wins. But, it sounds like you want us to decide on our personal morals and values. If life in America were that simple, we could make our individual choice. Unfortunately, laws can and have been passed which prevent us from deciding for ourselves. Real estate has many laws to abide to. Even if your selling the home without a realtor. Whatever decision is made, you must be sure and CYA! Otherwise you will have several organizations targeting you and yours for discrimination or any of the other millions of possibilties that will relieve you of any profit you may have made from the sale as well as a percentage of your future earnings for life.
