By putting an American flag with en espanol after it at the bottom of the page do you think yahoo is :?
Answer:
I think English should be the national language of the US. Anyone, legal or illegal, Mexican or European, or wherever they are from, should learn and speak English before they are allowed to reside in the US. That isn't racist; it's a matter of better communication between one another, and that way we don't have to single out one group or culture or language--we're all in the same boat: Americans. So adjust to the language, at least. I love different cultures, but communication should be a priority.
so what is your point......???????
maybe its there so people in puerto rico can use it.
calm down.
Anyone or entity that equates the American Flag and Espanol are screwed up in the head.
The fact is that this is the one uniting issue in politics today. With all of the party bickering the Republicans, Democrats, and all the other little parties are largely united over immigration.
ALL groups agree by majority that we only want them here legally.
This is the best platform to run the 2008 election on. It's Presidential gold.
Give it a rest. There are MILLIONS of Hispanics in this country LEGALLY who are not yet proficient in English. Also YA is an international forum.
Under the treaty of Free Association of 1952, Puerto Rico's official language (Spanish) was officially recognized as an official language of the island. The U.S. has many steps to accommodate the needs of these 4+ million U.S. citizens who live on the island and the other 4+ million who live on the mainland by providing Spanish-language forms (tax forms, social security info, etc.). The Clinton administration also added Spanish as a passport language (previously it was only written in English and French). With the passage of NAFTA in 1993, the U.S. has to provide Spanish translations for transactions with Mexico as Mexico would have to provide English translations for transactions with the U.S. There is nothing wrong in having espanol next to a U.S. flag. The oldest city in the U.S., St. Augustine, Florida was founded by the Spanish. This means that Spanish was spoken in the U.S. centuries before English was.
Yes..
Yes. Most think Yahoo is pro-illegal these days.
No.
It's all about money. Latinos in America have more spending power and internet access than any other spanish speaking country. Yahoo is not going to ignore the market, since there are advertisers who will spend thousands a day to target them. When spanish becomes annoying, is when you have to communicate with them.
i think it's that way because of the spanish speaking people in the united states. it was not intended for illegals.
I think they are providing Yahoo!Answers in Spanish. I don't see any conspiracy anywhere.
