Why do you people talk about this?
Answer:
OMG! I posted a similar comment before...don't worry, we know how it is going to go down!
BTW...how about a 360 page for us to leave comments for you?
Yes?
People can immigrate here all they want. most US citizens don't have a problem with immigration... it's when they do it illegally that they have a problem with.. but thanks for the info
It's politics. I know I can speak on my part and behalf of millions of American citizens when I say we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." – Margaret Mead
Congress only does what we, the people, allow it to do. If enough people are outraged enough (and it's growing every day) our elected representatives will bow to our wishes or will bow out to newly elected representatives who will.
FYI, this has become a big issue in Europe too. Illegal immigrants are a REAL problem. IF we need more immigrants then allow more legal immigration and kick out all the scofflaws AND YOU ARE getting answers...LOTS OF THEM...they just aren't the answers that you WANT. Apparently this will be another case of "I want to be validated! Validate me!"
I'm not against immigration, I'm against illegals...so are the majority of Americans.

It keeps it in the minds of people. a little mention here, a little jab there, it starts to add up.
Hey all the illegals didn't come across at once, they came over a few everyday and now look they're demanding rights that the Citizens of the USA don't receive.
1) Free health care
2) tax free wages
3) no I.D. to vote
4) more benefits for having more kids.
it goes on and on.
People talk about it because it is a huge dilemma. The situation stinks for all parties, but there isn't anything that can really be done. Conservative americans want the immigrants to go back to their countries, but they don't acknowledge that without immigrants the economy would most likely fail. Costs would skyrocket. People who are for amnesty don't realize that giving them citizenship would result in the same thing. This is an issue that is so messed up, we'll just have to follow it and see what the government does
And your point is? BTW, we don't complain about "immigration." You forgot a very important word - ILLEGAL! What part of ILLEGAL is so hard to understand?
People are not complaining "a little everyday." People are complaining A LOT everyday. They are writing to their congress people and screaming for change. We must remind the morons in Washington that made promises to get elected. We need to fire (no re-election) the cowards if they vote for amnesty!
We will NOT be silenced!
EDIT: I doubt that congress will have the courage to go against the wishes of MOST Americans by granting amnesty. (You are totally wrong when you say most Americans want amnesty - there was one poll that the pro-illegals shout about and when you actually look at the numbers, that one did NOT say most wanted amnesty.) Congress people are cowards and are afraid of the backlash if they do this. They are afraid of loosing their jobs!
The pro-illegals make stupid statements like "we need the illegals. Without them, lettuce would cost $5 per head. Our economy would fall apart without them." There are all total lies!
Both of the May 1st protests PROVED we don't need them. (There were no problems until a bunch of thugs tried to hastle the cops in LA.) Labor is only a small part of the cost of produce that the increase in costs would be only a few cents. Our economy would be BETTER without them because we wouldn't be shelling out an estimated $50 billion each year for them - CA alone is over $9 BILLION!
Please stop the pro-illegal excuses. None of them hold water!
Don't say we are racist because this issue has nothing to do with race. It doesn't matter where they come from and it is about the LAW.
Actually if you note it talk about immigration has increased significantly in the past couple of years. More discussion means more awareness and people having an opinion.
Many people have had an opinion but did not know how to express it. More discussion and people are realizing that most americans and even legal aliens are against illegal immigration.
It depends on what poll you read what Americans support.

It is an important issue, with huge consequences for our children's education and future. That is why we talk about it.
If it is so useless to talk about it, why do you?
I am not against the forms of amnesty I have read about so far Except that it might encourage future illegal immigration because people will believe that our government will find an OUT for them too. A second problem is that there is no way to identify any illegals with these proposed amnesty laws. The only real way to identify the illegals is to ask for valid documentation when they apply for a job, credit, housing, public assistance, health care, public education, etc.
Discourse on political issues is what a democracy is all about. It would be helpful, however, if instead of ranting and raving, more commenters on this forum would actually take the time to leave thoughtful responses to the questions and opinions posed, instead of just leaving conclusory, hateful and derisive statements.
The register of those commenting in immigration section on Yahoo Mexico is a world above the majority of commenters here. The comments here frequently contain misspellings, bad sentence strucuture, lack of punctuation -- and this is from those claiming to be USC through and through (generation upon generation of USCs).
One would think it would be different and that those commenting on the "US" side would be able to express themselves in a more polished manner, but . . . uh . .. 'no.' The Mexicans on Yahoo Mexico definitely win out!
People talk about it for the same reasons they talk about anything else,it makes them feel better. It's nice to know you're not the only one who feels that way and you can let off steam to others doing the same. Besides that it gives a feeling of unity and a spark of hope that we can change things. Talk is always the precursor to action.
We talk about it because we are outraged and silence means approval.clearly we don't approve. Why do you keep asking about it even after posting previously that you will not post about it any more? Why do you insist on defending people who are breaking our laws? And if you are going to defend these criminals (that is what it is called when you break the law and they do so every day they are here illegally) then why not pick another group and whine about how unfair we are to them? Perhaps you should defend deadbeat parents (child support is just too expensive and a hardship on their new family), thieves (they are just trying to support their families) or rapists (it's not their fault, they had a bad childhood)...these are all defenses that have been presented that are as weak and empty as the defense for illegals and excuses people try to justify amnesty with. Perhaps since you aren't from here you can't understand our position. Having gone through the process legally when my husband immigrated here I know what I am talking about and have every right to be outraged. And while you claim that 78% of Americans support amnesty I have yet to personally meet even 1 person who does, or even 1 who is on the fence about this issue.
You have a point there Congress will ALWAYS do what THEY want to no matter if the American people complain. Great point. I dont care one way or another about immigration or anything else for EXACTLY the point you just brought up the govt will do what it wants and there is NOTHING I can do about it. I have totally apathy towards the government. The people in the govt have money and power and ultimately will do what they want in the end. You know complaining NEVER got anybody anywhere so whats the point of complaining?
