I assume you mean illegal aliens. Its not true they get a tax ID number from the IRS. Just check out the link below. Thats how they fool the employer into giving them a job.
The employer witholds, Social Security, Income Tax, Medicare and the like from their check. Its also not true that they work for less than minimum wage. Because it the employer allows them to work "off the books" the employer cannot deduct their income from his taxes.
Next time you hear someone complain about a company hiring illegals ask them why the IRS provides illegals with valid tax ID numbers.

Legal aliens do have to pay taxes. They are given a ssan upon legal entry. There are very few exceptions depending on the country where they are from. HOWEVER, they are not exempt of social security & medicare taxes, sales /use taxes, property taxes(if applicable), state income taxes (where applicable),registration fees, excise taxes ETC..
