Did you see that Bush intends to get the bill passed by convincing us it secures the border? Is that a joke?
Considering that the bill cuts in half the fence and border patrol ALREADY signed into law last year, delay for which sits solely at his door, how does he imagine he will do that?

I did see that the other day. Although if he wants Republican votes on this one he might have to convince the Dems to allow some addition enforcement amendments into the bill.
We'll see if that happens though. I kinda feel this bill is dead for the year and we'll have to go another year without a real solution.
It makes me sick. But what do we expect? W has never listened to anyone (except Dick Cheney) and he's not about to make an exception for the American People.

They PROMISED security in the 1986 amnesty bill. In the 21 year since it passed, did we get it? NO!
They promised a border fence. Do we have a fence that is more than 10 miles long yet? NO!
We have laws that should be enforced regarding the hiring of illegals (e.g., jail employers). How many employers have been jailed or fined? VERY FEW!
The weasels in Washington are not listening! We must continue to put the pressure on them. Let them know we will not have this piece of crap shoved down our throats. Let them know that if they vote for this garbage, WE WILL NOT VOTE FOR THEM - they'll listen to that!

The issues of amnesty and border security are clearly two different issues. The latter being more of a priority. We should have already passed "border security bill" years ago.
this is such a joke!! i swear, the people have spoken on this and the bill didn't make it. Move on and just enforce the laws we currently have.. This bill did nothing to increase the border security, Just like last year when he sent all of the national guard to the border.. this was all just for show. they didn't and don't have any power to do any kind of real enforcement.. Also, if he is for more security, why doesn't he pardon the border patrol agents who are in jail for doing their jobs instead of leaving them in prison?"??
