Immigrant living in US want to return to France passport expired 10 yrs ago, how do I get back home?
Answer:
If you visit your friendly INS office that is closest to you they will take good care of you.
Call the French Embassy. YOu should be able to get a birth certificate, somehow.
Go to the French Embassy. Bring your expired passport. It's the only I. D. you have.
I'm not fully sure but I believe that returning to your country isn't going to be a problem. If you're here ilegally the United States government isn't going to stop you from returning to your country, however they will warn you that you can't no longer return to the states unless you are legal. The problem will be that in case you want to return to the states later on and apply for a visa it will be more difficult due to the record they will have that your visa had expired and you lived here ilegally for 10 years. Either way, best of luck to you! ^_^
Write to the french consulate here in the US, or go to the office of immigration, and they will help you.
Surrender to the I. N. S.; they will be glad to help you leave.
