Immigration!! Lost Answer Plz 10 points best answer!?

I am somewhat clueless about the immigration reform bill. I understand it failed again today and it cannot be brought up again. Is this correct or am I wrong? What is the status? And what do they plan on doing as far as immigration?

Answer:
It 'can' be brought up again if they think they can get the votes. The White House was trying to hint yesterday that they have all autumn to get it done. What that would mean, of course, is more bills crafted in secret and shoved through without allowing freedom to offer amendments, since there will not be time to do it 'right' before they have to take up end of year appropriations bills.

Common thought is that they won't bring it up because a number of Senators for it have taken a real beating in standings and even many for it just want to move on and let things calm down. However, I think Bush is more desparate than that, and am not sure there is a stake through the heart of the bill.

I hope there is, though. This is a terrible bill for ALL who live here, in terms of overwhelming schools and services all but the rich need to use. (The prospective parts, in particular.)
Leave No Illegal Alien Behind is dead and buried.

They will not bring this bill up again. 2008 is an election year and they would never bring up Amnesty in an election year so we will wait until 2009 and hope we can get a Congress who want to enforce the laws of the United States and not the demands of Mexico and 20 million illegal aliens!

I would expect the status quo - i.e. Bush encouraging millions more illegals to cross our borders as well as prosecution of Border Patrol Agents doing their jobs.
It was not an immigration bill, it was an Amnesty bill for illegal aliens. They could resurrect it, but the democrat politicians and a few idiot republicans want to reward people for breaking our laws, and 80 % of America does not follow that thought.
Bill has been killed Vol. 2!

The Senate pretty much voted against really bringing it to vote. It's an extremely volatile subject and they are not likely to address it until after the 2008 elections, so as not to give Bush a feather in his hat - and not give them black eyes.

As of now, the House hasn't really made any real moves towards an immigration bill either and seem to be waiting on the House to initiate action.

There are portions of the bill that are good... and portions that don't really make sense. If you're really interested, I would suggest doing some research on the bill and deciding for yourself if it is good or bad.
Yes, it failed again. The reason it will NOT be brought up again has to do with schedule.

Now I would like to see the enforcement of the laws all ready on the book. We were promised, in 1986, that the border would be secured and enforcement would be brought to bear. That is the problem. Now average American does not trust the govenment to do what they say they will.

Show me you can get it done, then we will talk.
I guess Bush could allways try to ram it down our throats again but I think the senate spoke clearly since it was 14 votes short a opposed to 6 votes a few weeks ago.And as for what we are going to do I hope it is complete reform without rewarding people who sneak in here when there is a long list of people waiting to do it legally.
Yes, the amnesty bill is dead. What do they plan on doing? What about enforcing our current laws and start going after the employers who hire the illegal aliens?
Yes, it was killed but our work has just begun. We need radicals out of our country, gangbangers, fraud experts, etc. We also need to force those borders closed and guarded with a vigilance. Legal immigration should continue and we have to move forward as Americans and get all of these free programs pulled for illegal aliens and get our schools and our government back on track!
The bill is dead. It cannot be raised again.
