If mexicans are such hard workers why do they take the easy, illegal route to get here? Why dont they work?

Why dont they work hard and take the legal way? Why dont they learn the language of the country they invade? Why do hispanics have the highest high school drop out rate?

What is the *hard working* stereotype based on??

Answer:
They don't want to take the "legal way". They would rather abuse the system, break laws and then complain and demand!!

Been asking myself why illegals can't follow the example of MILLIONS of other immigrants who came to the US!!
Illegal route? As opposed to the route the Europeans took when they got here?
Its NOT just Mexican's..Many have OVERSTAYED their visa's..And they are NOT from Mexico...
It's desperation and survival. They are marginalized in the US which explains the social problems that plague their communities. I imagine that coming legally would take way longer than coming right over the border. You have to look at the economic situation of Mexico to understand how and why they are motivated to come here. Better to stick to facts and figures rather than emotion.
I'm so tired of these crazy remarks. You only make people who support border security and immigration reform look crazy. Your rhetoric makes us all look like a bunch of trailer park hill billies who have our shot guns ready to shoot any Mexican on site. Give it a rest please.
The "hard working" is the propaganda machine at work and nothing more. I guess it is harder work finding a coyote than doing things the legal way.

But again the truth IS that it is propaganda..Why do they need the amnesty to happen? So the North American Union can go through...they are trying to force it to happen before 2010.
girl.you are crazy.are you like one of those really racist goth chicks? soooo cool...keep up the great questions!
They work hard to break our laws and hate America.

Read my lips - NO NEW ILLEGALS.
Mexicans are hard workers. I have worked with a few. They live on the edge of starvation in Mexico. They see America as a way to feed their families. They want to learn English. It means higher wages here. It is hard to learn a new language as an adult and you are not talking about educated people here. They drop out of school because they must work or because of unstable families. I know all this and I want to help them but letting 20 million stay in America means our country will suffer and middle class will eventually disappear. They cannot stay but we need to help them somehow. Their corrupt government needs to go. That means war. Is there an answer? I don't know one.
I got carried away on this question :)
I can tell you the that it has nothing to do with working to get here some from other countries are denied entry or are limited and their circumstance may not allow for the time to wait. I want proof that the Hispanic drop out rate is the highest I prove other wise
Good point! Why don't they work hard in their own country...protest against their own corrupt govt instead of making a fool of themselves by protesting against our generous American govt which has been helping them. They are nothing but ingrates. They sure don't work hard in school. They have such high dropout rates...what a waste of our tax money! Throw them out!
The 'hard-working' stereotype is based on the fact that they are hard workers. But remember, in Mexico compared to the U.S., their money is crap. They're practically working hard for nothing. They figure if they come to the U.S., they can work as hard for twice the pay. Then comes the part where they have to go through all the hassle and expenses of coming to America the legit way, and they don't have time for that. They need to hurry up and work to put food on the table for their families. Im not exactly sure why the have the highest high school drop out rate. Im half mexican and im graduating with honors.
