What do ya think of this?

I generally try to stay out this conversation, but I saw this story and thought has the American people gotten so bad that something like this should happen to an innocent person. The man in the story is a legal citizen but because of his skin color he was treated unfairly. I feel sorry for his family, and the thought that they may never see their loved one again because of the treatment of our government. I was just wanting to see what everyone else thought. I just hope that this will not be a trend, and that the hispanic community doesn't think that all people think this way. I have alot of family and friends who are hispanic and they feel threatened just because of the color of their skin. Before you say anything negative they are legal, and come from legal parents.

Answer:
u know the sick part of this is ? that some people are not able to understand that they would not like it if this was done to one of their own family or someone they knew . i mean what do they want ? to stop any person who is mildly disable as it looks he was from walking in the streets ? ...

in my opinion that kind of people need to get real and to understand that it would take a great deal to deport every single person with out documents in the USA ... they also need to understand that it is obvious that it would make America seem as the most racist country in the world if every Hispanic was detained to be asked for his/her papers when most are legally here and when most countries around the world look at the Hispanics as really nice people .

if the anti-immigrants got their way in this what happened to him could happen to a lot more people and it probably would lead to a lot of lawsuits against the people ( America ) who are the ones who pay for that .

i also heard about a person who was deported who had ascendant Hispanic , did not even spoke Spanish , was deported with out being questioned about his status , tried to explain the immigration officers in the border that he was a citizen of the USA , they did not believe him or assist him in anyway , later tried to cross the border thorough the Rio grand and died while doing so ...
Wrongly deported? That's a joke. One tiny item the stupid LA Times missed was the fact that he told the cops that he was here ILLEGALLY! He wasn't born in the US! They deport ILLEGAL ALIENS since they are criminals!
9/11 changed lot of things.this unfortunately is bye product of the same atmosphere.I am sorry to hear about this..not surprised though.

He might have a case for violation of his civil rights! Consult an attorney.
the man is a US CITIZEN! just imagine how it's gonna be like if the pro deportation crowd get what they want.

every man woman and child that's not white will be subject to deportation even though they are CITIZENS. imagine how chaotic it will be.
so they say he is legal yet he couldnt read or write? and he didnt even know his own telephone number and he's 29?

seems kinda fishy to me.

and another think how come he didnt show them his social security card, drivers license and birth certificate proving he was a u.s citizen. it seems oddly fishy here. i bet he wasnt a u.s citizen.

wow his family really cared about him...where were they? how come he was alone by himself to get introuble in the first place? how come they didnt search for him those 120 days he was in jail...
Don't worry, they have mexicans working as border patrol agents that will bring him back for a price.
Why would a loving caring family let him go out alone if he didn't even know his phone number? My friend has a child that is slow and none of them would let her go anywhere alone. Sometimes, the responsibility falls on the family members. How long was he missing before they reported it? I also have friends and family that are hispanic, they are not illegal either and really detest the ones that are. Just another way to make a buck on the government.
My question is why couldn't he read or write if he was born in the U.S. was he mentally impaired or something. I hope they find him if that's the case.
You may knock me for this, but wasn't he arrested for trespassing? So he broke the law and couldn't speak English well enough to defend himself.I understand the sympathy, but a person who is born in America should either know enough English to get by or should have a custodian to watch over them so things like this don't happen if they are that mentally challenged. Was it wrong to deport him? Maybe. If his family cared enough he would have some sort of legal ID to carry to prove his citizenship.
...I can relate to you, and I also think it is very unfair, but there is nothing we can do to help it. This is something that has being happening for a long time. I mean, nowadays whats the real meaning of this discrimination, the only real Americans in the US are the American Indians, therefore, i dont understand why people try to act superior because of skin color or descendency. Like I said, the only ones that coyld actually claim it are the American Indians. (btw, I'm not American Indian, just in case)
I think the guy shouldn't be wandering around if he is so disabled that he doesn't know if he's an American or not. I think there's more to this story than is being reported.
Fairy Queen, you and I would be very good friends.I agree with you, now we are having people singled out because they are Hispanic, and if they have no i.d, which is the case with this man, he will get deported? That's ridiculous!
That's gonna happen all over if somthin don get done.My little brother is darker skin than me.We're Danish and Native American he got called some pretty awful stuff at school last week. Some kids from another high school tried running him down after tennis practice in there car and told him to get back to mexico. He came home p o'd but i think it scared him.I wish somthin would get done so dummies like them kids don't hurt someone.I ain't for racist sh*t.I ain't for illegals neither but the racist stuff is hurtful. An that's the kinda thing is gonna happen with that bill not passing people is gonna take on sh*t that don know nothin about.Like who's legal or not.
that is so wrong to do that to an American. now they know how those border patrol officers feel. and yes, if he's American our govt should help locate him and get him back in his own country. and yes i read the report, thanks. it just goes to show how screwed up our govt has become.
Looks like they might want to establish a purple paint law for property line marking so as to alleviate the trespass sign issue.
I read this story. His family should sue for trillions for racial discrimination.
he was a criminal~ dont make excuses just because he is Hispanic~ blame it on all the criminal illegal aliens that give hispanics a bad reputation!
When I was reading the story earlier, I was thinking of the movie Born in East LA. Sorry, But it was the truth. It's sad, if it's true, but all the evidence is not in on this one.
I think the majority of these stories are much more tragic then the one you posed.

Keep flipping through the pages.
