This person can still apply for US citizenship. That is one of the many problems that this country have to deal with about Illegal Immigrants. When Illegal immigrant come into this country with their newborn and send their child through our school system and once the child have reach the age of 18 yrs old doesn't make him/her legal citizen. Can you even imagine how Illegal immigrants will come out of the wood works to claim their rights to be a US citizen? Also give them more reason to bring their infant/child to the US.
This is one issue that congress having a problem about illegal immigrants (infant) some member feel the child should be a legal citizen and others feel they must abide by the law. The law is the law and it shouldn't bend for that reason. Again this child can still apply for US citizenship and most likely (as long this child haven't been into any serious trouble with the law) gain the right to be a citizen of the US.
my thoughts it sad but its fair. just apply for citizenship...remember this child wasn't born in the US.

Yes, illegal is illegal. They should be sent home, unless the immigration courts say they can stay and apply for residency / citizenship at a special hearing.
he should try his hardest to become legal then. he must have some family that are legal here.

The hole point of legal immigration is that we get these people in the "system" so that they can be contributors to our society and have the right to the benefits and opportunities all Americans have. This "Anchor Baby" scam has to stop. There is already a parade of pregnant illegal aliens having babies on this side of the border. Yes, the baby automatically is a US Citizen. I say kick the parents as hard as you can back across the border and stick the baby into a foster home. This is a racket that has to stop. And so the illegal parents get to stay and collect all benefits that the child is entitled to at taxpayer's expense. When that child turns 18, he or she will be sponsoring the rest of the relatives south of the border.

Should be granted citizenship, they deserve it. Who cares if their parents entered illegally or never legalized them. They're as American as apple pie or whatever.
It's not the Kids fault, and its not America''s fault, but its most definetely the parents. Its heart wrenching, but we have to draw a line somewhere. I asked this a while back, but I am concern that these immigrants are endangering their kids lives. They bring kids in make shift boats from cuba. They run in a busy freeway to prevent being captured. THe walk in deserts.. They swin in heavily polluted water. SOme of these children die. These parent are iresponsible to do this to their kids. If we make an exception because they bring their kids here, more children would die. Also we can't bend to blackmail. If we allow this to happen, there would be no control on our borders. If you want to see how bad America can get if we are not dedicated in regulating immigration, go to the slums of France. Remember the riots there. I sympathize with some of the Children, and they are one of the reason I previously tolerated the immigraion bill. I can not stand by and let see the bill go forward anymore, because the bill has gotten out of control when they allow felons to get a z visa as well.
If parents are illegal, then so is the infant. He may have not made the choice himself to be here. But parents of this sort are making bad choices to begin with.

Fair or not - that is the way our system is suppose to work. Illegal is illegal after-all. And no one here stops the parents from returning with them.
If they love this country, as you have said, they will follow its laws and apply for citizenship the way that everyone else does.

Life isn't fair. and the only people that child has to blame is their parents for putting them in the situation to begin with. He may not have chosen to come here, but he isn't a citizen of this country, or even a legal resident. He is, however a legal citizen of his home country, and more than welcome to return to it. When he returns, he can go to the US embassy in their country and apply to come here legally, and work towards citizenship like others who came here legally.
