I highly doubt that they will send the illegals back. The ACLU has decided that the illegals have a right to be here. The sooner we get rid of the ACLU the better for the country. They are another group that has their own agenda and do not care about you or I.

The immigration bill was a pretty lackluster piece of legislation. Bush wanted it because big corporations want it,
Legislators need to improve immigration law to permit workers to come and work, and then come up with a civilized way for those here illegally to legalize their status.
Lets point out that immigrants work hard.
PS. I am researching a different possibility and that is that Bush really wanted the bill crushed because illegal aliens pay into Social Security and can never get it back (invalid numbers).
The government sees Social Security as a slush fund to the tax base ever since Greenspan pointed out that the funds could be used to pay govt expenses if a chit was signed for the money.
Of course if they take the money out then it cannot be invested and SS diminishes in value. I think that it is time for an investigation into SS funds use.
The people and more importantly THE CONGRESS will not get the idea about how important secure borders are until we have another disaster like 9-11. The borders can be controlled if you have the proper motivation. Just look at the old U.S.S.R. Their government was not perfect but the way they were able to control the borders was picture perfect. Put up a fence and two hundred feet put up a parallel fence and then shoot any one in the middle. This will offend a lot of people, but so what. I lost family on 9-11, so don't preach to my choir. This country is right on the verge of POLITICALLY CORRECTING ourselves right into oblivion. Look at mid America to see where we are going. Just check the population demographics of Minneapolis Minnesota.

When you enter this country and the very first thing you do is BREAK THE LAW, then I have to believe that you have no respect for the law. Then I am not surprised who the ones are that are causing trouble, becoming gang members and trying to undermine our freedoms.
Immediate execution should be the cure for illegal immigration. Deportation only fuels the problem. They got here once. They know how to do it again and teach someone else.

It is a very sad and dangerous predicament.
I witnessed the transformation of Miami starting back in the '60's from both legal and illegal immigration. The good news is that by the time the second generation hits the age of majority, they are English-speaking and proud of their citizenship. The bad news is that the US should be carefully selecting who is allowed in, but Congress does not have the resolve to get tough on the borders and in enforcing existing legislation. Just the notion that we are a society of many cultures is enough of a reason to contol the legality of all immigrants. No one group should massively enter.
We should do all we can to secure our borders and to locate those who have remained here illegally.
Congress acts mainly in its own self-interest. They get the message; finally.
