Do you realize that there is NOT a worker shortage, but that EMPLOYERS are wanting to decrease the worker pay?

Answer:
Yep that is the old framing dodge,

Claim there are jobs decent folk won't take, when you are hiding the fact that you won't treat them decently.

The scam is as old as the country, you advertise around a target country that America's streets are paved with gold.

Then when the suckers get over here they find they are shoved into slums and paid rotten wages as those who have been here all along riot outside the company gates at having their union busted.

After a while the newcomers get their feet on the ground and begin to organize to get decent pay and they do it all over again, with a rush of more Immigrants.

In this latest batch they have even dispatched with most of the immigrants and just taken the factories to places where people are desperate enough to work for pay even they cannot live on. Even as their Country's dictators arrange the money exchange rate so the they can conquer America without firing a shot.
What employers are you referring to? My salary just increased. Hmmm...
Exactly, so we are just shipping the jobs overseas.
Nice. I have applied for for jobs at several corporate home improvement stores. I am well qualified in my filed, and they claim to be hiring all of the time. But I get no calls. I think the powers that be are asking these big companies to post a lot of available jobs, just don't hire anyone. And presto we have jobs Americans won't take.
Please do not hurt their tiny little brains with facts and logic.

OUCH!!!
Hmm, medical and tech jobs - not precisely the usual "Jobs Americans don't want to do" are they?

Wake up, people - they're not in the fields anymore.
There isn't a grand conspiracy out there. Employers are owners of businesses. Owners want to (understandably) make as much a profit as possible. The simple truth is that wages are a matter of supply and demand.

Can owners find employees who are qualified to do the work--and at what expense? The more employees looking for that type of work, the lower the cost of hiring them.because there is LESS competition for those employees.

The fewer employees there are looking for that type of work, the cost goes up..because more and more employers are competiitng for those smaller number of available employees. And then the wages go up.

Supply and demand--that is what it is about.
Of course. Meatpacking wages dropped from about $18.00 per hour to about $8.50 an hour, entry level, when illegal immigrants began to take the place of American workers. Now employers think there are not enough workers if they can't get them at $8.50 - or at least at $10.00. How about raising it to where it was? Not to mention that since all prices have gone up since then, it should be adjusted upwards, for inflation.
That IS Exactly what they are aiming for as the price for everything goes up, housing, the cost of energy and food. When it backfires on them and people get sicker because of misdiagnosis, they have already placed a ceiling on how much a patient can get for Medical Malpractice.
I agree with you 100% There is not a worker shortage in this country. plenty of people would do the jobs which the illegals are doing, but the companies don't want to pay them a fair wage. I really don't see why everyone doesn't see what is happeing. We are totally exploiting the poor citizens of one country to help our country out. if this was a group of usa people, what would be said about this?? but the jobs would be completed by people.. these are starter jobs, summer jobs, and jobs which many would do, but can't because the illegals are there. In order for a true immigration refrom bill to pass, you have to take the incentive out of being here illegally which means to take the money away. companies should be heavily fined if they are found to hire undocumented workers and should have a 3 strikes you are out rule
