Most Americans NEED to be forced to spent a day watching literally millions of illegals working 15 hour days (piece-work usually) doing back breaking work under the blazing hot sun on farms across the nation for SLAVE labour rates and virtually no benefits let alone health care.
It is their CHEAP SLAVE labour wages that continues to see Americans enjoy the lowest food costs in all the developed nations and their "slave master" to on the whole reap huge profits off their labour .
I wish I was God and was able to rid the US of all illegal aliens and see these friggin lying hypocrites gnash their teeth and cry into their beer over high food costs and thousands of dirty filthy lowly jobs NOT being done.
Given the gross hypocricy of many Americans on many issues,I know I am wasting my time reminding all you good little Christian Americans (89 % of Americans) that their stance against illegal aliens is simply UN-CHRISTIAN as testified to all the Christian Churches position in the past few months.

the claim is a red herring. There are a whole lot of "nasty" jobs that Americans do if adequate pay is there. Think law enforcement, trash pick up, construction, plumbing, etc., etc.
I've worked for $1.97 an hour as a legal citizen of non-mexican decent. They hired me because they couldn't find an illegal that would work for less than that.

While I am not against hard work, because I have gotten my hands dirty, plenty of times, and my hands show it, btw.In this present time, I would not do those jobs because I have a skill and a business now, where I don't have to work in fields or clean toliets...But in my early years, I would have done that type of work and did.I am not afraid to work hard and get my hands dirty.
At this point in my life I have a job that pays me well, but if you are speaking of just would I in general sure. And these illegals arent always making low wagers either. thats a misconception.

Family owned a deli, I did the gutter work, topped, cut, hung tobacco...picked whatever and when...I did learn how to make outstanding wine!

I wouldn't either.. I live in Arizona and there is not enough money in the world to make me go out and work in this heat. I saw road workers on Friday covered from head to toe and fully expected to see them spontaneously combust, it must be like working inside a running microwave oven. As for what would happen if amnesty were given, the illegals wouldn't be illegal anymore and would be able to take ANY job, which they would do, making room for the next wave of illegals.
I have done those jobs and still do one. I work in a factory where they just deported 68 illegals and I am still there working.

TO answer this question, NO. I would leave those jobs for people who can DO them and for the people who need them, which are mostly immigrants. I also wouldn't do thos jobs because I actually am making something of myself, as a Hispanic American (of Mexican descent), I have made it to college and soon will graduated, and I hope most us can make it that far and try to prove to people that we can do it.

No I think that no self respecting American would take a job making $60 a day for about 12 hours of work out in the fields. I have heard from those who say that Americans used to do those jobs during the great depression, you know the Okies that migrated to California. Those Okies did not stay in those jobs forever though and were not also restricted by laws that made it tough on them to even live. The Okies were NOT denied drivers licences and expected to have a car, they were not met by a watchdog group who claims to be protecting our borders for our own safety while they are only looking out after themselves, and most of all were not ignored by the government, Roosevelt took charge and fixed the problem, unlike todays pseudo-leaders that sit back and wait for problems to resolve while they watch.
