Yes, they let is happen, and the illegals and their enablers are now demanding their rights and want us to pay for it. The illegals have been told over and over that not only it's their right to come here, and they are doing the jobs that the fat lazy Americans are too good to do.
All I know is that they need to enforce our laws and clean up this mess that they have created.
I am watching everything that my reps do and I will vote accordingly.
You are exactly right. They pass laws they wont enforce all the time. I think its just to justify them even being there. This whole thing is BS if they would enforce the laws that are already on the books we would not have this problem. It's just like gun control or any other hot issue. Pass a law that feels good, then go back to taking bribes and doing nothing for the people you represent.
They didn't deal with it before because, unfortunately, politicians only deal with the popular case at the time they are running for something. It just so happens that the illegal immigration problem is brimming over right now so it is the hot topic that they have to address.
They want the slave labor, They have a problem because they didn't allow enforcement before to the point where those illegally here have networks allowing them to move to better jobs etc and they want a work force they can control. Look at the tech industry objections although the bill would unacceptably increase H1B visas. It wouldn't make visa seekers be selected by an employer first, but just give points for skills in demand. So the visa holder would not be 'beholden' and need to keep that particular job once here. The tech companies are going crazy over it.
They aren't doing this for humanitarian reasons, and their interest has never been protecting the American people from the impacts of their worker exploitation.
I'm afraid you're right. I don't know whether it was was sin of commission or omission. Either way, it's a mess! They've condoned breaking the law, really. What kind of message does that send? Do as I say, not as I do??

I agree, they wanted these people here, to pander to there contributors, got lazy about enforcing laws, and completely underestimated the problem it would create.Plus NAFTA put many people OUT of work in Mexico...The result, millions of illegal workers flooding over here!

It IS time to give our out-of-touch congressmen a wakeup call by voting out both party's incumbents out of office. We don't need republicratic reform - we need NEW parties. If you will notice the leaders of the political party that always brings up this Amnesty crap is which one ?? If they can get more Illegals in the country , and get them into citizenship by hook or by crook , and on all the "government welfare" programs by whatever means , then when it is time to vote ; who do you think the Illegals will vote for ? So , now we have had 3 more of these so called " End Of Illegal Entry Amnesty Bills " , and they haven`t even enforced the 1st 3 yet , and now we are up to 12 million Illegals or who knows how many ?? Meanwhille ; The Illegals continue to pour in by the thousands ? "WHERE`S THE FENCE "? Cut the free stuff out and watch the problem dissolve. Verify ID`s to make sure some Illegal isn`t using one of your dead family members Social Security numbers. Back up the background check with verification of BIRTH with a Birth Certificate . Check the hospital records ! If phoney records of fraud are found ,give them a choice , deportation or prison . If they choose deportation , and they are caught here again Illegally , then it is mantatory 5 years in prison . Why have the laws we have now if the No Back Bone politicians are not going to stand up for us the Legal Tax Paying Citizens of this country ?? It`s all about VOTES ! The SANTA CLAUS PARTY could care less about the welfare of us the Legal Citizens of this country , they just want the Power over their kingdom .
