We don't know.At this point it could go either way...But I will say this, Hispanic's are a huge voting block and many vote, Washington are carefully considering this.I believe Bush won office because of the Hispanic vote, he is well aware of this and so is Washington.

I see military service as a pathway to citizenship.if they want it bad enough...they will fight for it. Four years service will get them to the front of the line. It makes sense to ME!

I think he'll do his best to push it but I also think the repubs know how we feel and that it's in their best interest to do what the people want on this one.
I sure do hope so. Big Corporations are licking their chops so they can offer immigrant workers sub-poverty wages, thus lowering wages for ALL Americans. It is tough enough trying to make it these days with rising fuel costs, let alone giving the companies a license to throw peanuts at workers for a hard days work. What about the people who have lived here since they were born. What special treatment will they receive? Kick out the illegal immigrants and take care of our own now!
I found his comments in Europe odd, such as "I'll see you at the signing". I wonder if there will be some political dirty politics. If he listens to the people, he will go and tell the congress to kill the bill. Even the legal immigrants I know.(well, first of all they do not like to have to say they are "legal").they mostly think the illegal aliens should be forced to do what they did to become citizens. If not, will they be compensated for the extra effort they did? Also, this silly concept of paying only what $2000-$5000 for years of back taxes. Where can I get in line to do that??
I could refile and retire. Bottom line is these people are criminals. There is little difference in some of our young Americans who earn illegal money by selling illegal merchandise to pay for food for their families, and illegal aliens who sold their work for cash under the table.
If you must forgiven the illegals you must also forgive the citizens who commited illegal activites because they could not get a job.

There's no telling. Right now, I would have to say it looks like it will pass. I hope not. I am a hardworking individual. I have paid into the system as did my parents. For what? To have millions of people who have not contributed anything to come and qualify for social security benefits and to give birth to numerous children in this country that they cannot afford. That's ok, the hardworking American citizens can foot the bill. The back taxes ? That is a joke. What about all the American citizens who owe back taxes? Where is their amnesty? Not to mention I just got my new health insurance renewal. It went up $30/month. I am in my late 20s and very healthy, but as my renewal stated, increasing rates in my area are causing my premium to rise. That can't be because I happen to be in a Katrina devastated area where thousands of illegal immigrants are flocking to and getting free health care at our hospitals. Silly me, I forgot, American citizens are responsible for paying that. I would also like to say that I have no problem with immigration as long as it is legal. It is the illegal immigration I frown upon. Sorry for the vent but it had to come out.
