I believe the majority of it is for illegals currently in the US, but there are also provisions for new immigrants wanting citizenship and some provisions for those already in and requirements for citizenship.
Sad isn't it. You try to some here legally and try to live the american dream and now millions of future legal immigrants will have to wait even longer for their shot to get here. i hope the bill dies a quick death.

The point of the immigration reform is to give legal status to illegal aliens.
1)probationary visa (for 10 yrs)
2)permanent residency
3)citizenship -- if they choose to after having permanent residency for 5 years.
Only people that profit from that bill is big business and the illegals.
Middle class gets the shaft.

Good question. It's over 800 pages long, but the fact that it rewards illegals is totally unacceptable to this American Citizen.
I don't know, even the ones that wrote the bill have no idea, because it was written in many parts, each group wrote into the bill their wish list, from La Raza to the business lobby
