Mexicans... not wanted?
Just wanted to share a thought.
Answer:
Generations ago, America was founded by people who WANTED to be Americans.
Meet the new breed of foreigner immigrant who ONLY WANTS TO LIVE in America. THEY DON'T WANT TO BE AMERICANS.
Foreigners all want to come HERE, Americans do not wish to go THERE, except ...maybe for 1 WEEK.
USA is HOME to me.
Tell us, WHERE IS HOME TO a Mexican?
^
I agree with you I have no problem with mexicans actually my ex is a mexican lol, and im american.
My parents were immigrants. They had to wait. 10 years. They lived in deprivation while they waited. When they got here, they were welcomed by the government and found a place in society.
They worked hard. Raised children, and took pride in the fact that they never broke any laws to make this their home.
I don't care how bad things are in Mexico, Iraq, Peru, Columbia, Brazil or elsewhere.
You can't come here without doing it right. Giving "amnesty" only invites more illegal immigration.
Here's the other problem. If I go to Mexico and I want to get a job. I can't except for asking for a work permit. That means I need a work visa. So if I have to abide by Mexican laws, then why should I expect any different from Mexicans coming here to work?
The answer is I don't.
If you are lucky and you are a legal resident, or a citizen, then count your blessings.
But if Mexicans call you "white" then they're the bigots.
And as an aside, every Friday night I see all the local illegals piling up at the check cashing store so they can Western Union American Dolleros across to ole Mexico so when they get deported, they have a nice nest egg.
Not all illegals are here to stay. They want our dollars and then go back to live well with them.
Good luck Amigo. I think you're conflicted but if you are, in fact legal, be proud of it. Your an American. Welcome to our prosperous nation.
did u c wut happened on may 1st.. ??
It's dangerous to have so many undocumented people running around. If it's possible for some Mexicans to come here legally, there must be a way for all Mexicans.
The immigration debate is not a racial issue. I agree with you, in principal. Don't you think the biggest part of this problem is actually in Mexico? Can't something be done there to improve the economy?
America is a great country and you can tell by the number of people who want to live here. But we're a country of laws and people living here should obey the law. It is fair to all of the Mexican immigrants who got here legally?
Just my thoughts..
Why are illegals willing to risk their lives crossing borders, but unwilling to stand up to the powers that be in Mexico.
I am very tired to hear about the hard working Mexico, we American also are hard workers, and their are no jobs we are not doing or not have done. As to the risks illegals take crossing the border, that is their choice and they have to take responsibility for their own actions. The cost of this amnesty will cost the American tax payer 2.4 trillion dollars over 10 years, the illegals might want the American dream but they want us to bare the cost. Let the Mexicans pursue their dreams in Mexico
If you are an American that happens to be half Mexican feel proud that you are both. This is what I don't understand about Mexicans. They always want to be Mexican first, why is that?
My husband is Black, but in the 18 years we have been married never once has he said I'm AFRICAN-AMERICAN. He says I'm AMERICAN! That's all. He was born and raised in NY. Maybe if Americans stop defining each other by race we can all just be AMERICANS.
Mexicans are welcome to come to the U.S., they just need to do so legally. Just like every other person from other countries that are not at our border.
One more thing, not all Americans are Rich and Famous like TV, many live paycheck to paycheck, Mexicans are not the only people out there having a hard time.
I have always appreciated that Mexican people have a good work ethic. However, have you stopped to think that if there were no illegal aliens available to do the 'jobs Americans refuse to do", because of low wages, then maybe the employers would be forced to increase the wage so that an American citizen WOULD find the job acceptable? Just a random thought.
Sadly, many Americans /have/ been to Mexico - and, when you're a tourist or even a well-off resident, it can certainly seem like a nice place. So they don't realize just how bad things can be there.
The solution, of course, is to make Mexico a /better/ place. If we can give freak'n Communist China an economic leg up by buying thier cheap crap by the container load, we can do the same to Mexico. All it would require would be for the Mexican Government to become a little less corrupt than the Chinese Communist Party. You wouldn't think that'd be too much to ask...
No, I'm sorry, but I don't see it differently. You're no better than all of those Mexicans that respect America's laws and sovereignty enough to go through the legal process to become an American. These people wait for years and you're no better than they are! If you don't respect our laws then it's plain and simple, WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE. Here's some 411 for you. If you're a "Mexican" you're not "WHITE" and I seriously doubt you're seen as such. Give me a break.
HI
I think mexicans should come to Quebec, Canada!
Here, we love latin americans because we find them nice, warm and hard working! It's cold here though...
The best thing for an immigrant who wants to come here is to learn French. We don't have anough births so whoever learns French will have a much easier time being welcomed by the government.
I don't put most of the blame on the illegals themselves (because I might do the same in that situation); but it doesn't take away from the fact that they drive wages down, crowd schools and hospitals, and are an overall drain on the system and a threat to the power of the American worker to negotiate decent wages, benefits, and safety standards. The jobs that Americans supposedly don't want are the very jobs that used to be done by Americans at higher pay and higher standards.
The companies that hire them, our corrupt politicians that are bought by these companies, and the corrupt government of Mexico are to blame for this trying economic problem/issue.
The millions risking their lives to come to the United States should take that energy and try to reform their own country. Mexican government is largely corrupt. Mexico has great national resources and could be a very prosperous country if there were great political reforms.
The United States government has a Constitutional duty to protect the borders, secure the borders, set immigration policy and enforce the policy. We simply can not let anyone and everyone come here that wants to. People need to apply legally for the great privelege of becoming a United States citizen. Many Mexicans do not want to become citizens, they simply want to work, get a free education, free healthcare and other free welfare programs. They do not want to become citizens, pledge allegiance to the country, learn Englsih, and assimilate into our culture. Many Mexicans want to transform the United States and that is something that we can no longer tolerate.
My fiance' is a legal United States citizen who is American of Mexican descent. Her and her family, some of which have served in the military defending this great nation, do not like illegal immigration of any kind and want our borders protected.
It is time the government did its' job. I'm afraid if the current batch of politicans refuse to address it there will be an entire new batch coming soon that will. This is a problem that can no longer be ignored.
Senator Kennedy promised amnesty would not be offered again and the border would be secured back in the 60's and again in the 80's. He is promising the same thing today. These are the type of politicians we need to get rid of and another great reason for enacting Constitutional term limits on Congress.
And I'll leave you with one last thought, walk in the shoes of a person from Cambodia who has worked hard, spent their life savings and did all the legal paperwork to come here and become a legal citizen. Picture how they feel when they see legal status being offered to a group of people and those people don't even have to assimilate or become citizens.
Next, picture your the mother & father of a child who was just killed by an illegal alien. Now maybe you can see why Americans want and need the borders to be secured.
Maybe you will think differently now.
I'm Mexican American i'm legal here so are my parents, but alot of my family isn't all of my family is here to stay they have no plans in leaving but i've heard that but they don't call me "white" in Mexico they call me "white" here because I look white its just because both my parents are light skinned.
There are 12 to 20 MILLION. Our schools are overcrowded and failing our own children. It is about volume and the impact on services we need ourselves. When it was 2 or 3 million we gave amnesty and now we are told that a third of those illegally here are relatives of those who got amnesty in 1986. Look at our schools, class sizes, test scores and percentage of teachers on emergency credentials, look at the slashed programs for our own children to pay for ESL and intervention for children of those illegally here.
We have been paying for them all these years, and ruining our own children's future. If the shoe was on the other foot, I think you would see the problem clearly.
I think maybe if the immigrants would be more willing to help out the neighborhoods they lived with as much effort as they apply towards there employment most would not have a problem but here's just a few things to think about the jobs they are performing you're right nobody else would do them for that wage but if not for them working so hard so cheap the jobs would be given to legal citizens at a higher wage Now this may sound racist but everyone does it who works hourly but how come every city with mostly farm laborers from Sonoma to Arvin Ca seems to have more brand new trucks parked outside there human service building anyone I know why cause there also receiving cash aid and food stamps I want to also state I to am from a Mexican family and my daughter who has blonde hair blue eyes gets asked all time how she got her last name she looks them square in the eyes and tells them "cause I'm Mexican" So yes we are stereotypical as whole but not necessarily racist
If escaping to America is the "American dream", then ask any illegal Mexican to recite the Pledge of Allegiance or The Star Spangled Banner. I guarantee you will get a look of confusion followed up with, "no habla ingles". There are laws established for immigrants to gain citizenship. These laws are not meant to be broken just because Mexicans have a hard life in Mexico. I have worked side by side with Mexicans, and believe me, there are some that have pride in doing a good job, and proud to be in America. However, there are those Mexicans that have no loyalty to this country, and do expect a handout. And no matter how bad they think Mexico is to live, they will always hang a Mexican flag above an American one. That, my dear, is not the "American dream".
Illegal immigration is just that illegal- wahts next amnesty for stealing- as Charles Rangel put it- Guest worker program- that's the closest thing to slavery I have ever seen.
No amnesty- any American will pick lettuce for $10 an hour and benefits !
my baby girl is american and mexican so i know what you are talking about lol she does not look anything like her father that makes me mad becasue everyone will ask who her father is and i would say who and they say how becasue she has red hair and green eyes lol iv been to mexico i will be going back after i have my new baby to live we are going to get married down there and try to get his papers so that he can come to the usa with us as a family thats the only thing that sucks about all this is that family does not count and its wrong i dont want my kids growing up with out there father so i will go back and stay with him untill we can come back here as a family. I also agree with you about the work one farm i seen there was no american people all mexicans becasue no american person wanted to work the hours that they had to do day in and day out with only one day off and having to work all the holidays. No sick time so they went to work sick and also so tyerd that they just kept on doing there jobs and not complaning.
I am discriminated for being Italian American
but I don't hate them I just feel sorry for them
because they know I'm the best and they just
wish to be like me
As a Mexican-America I can understand the point your making. About people doing those jobs that "Americans" do not want to do.
However there is a lot of Americans out there who would do these type of jobs. However many employers exploit these people because they are here with no paper work. Because they have no paper work they fear they will loose what ever job they have, if they complain about abuses of their employer. So these people because they are illegal they are continually abused by their employer.
Honestly do you think it's fair to pay a person less than $20 a day for picking fruit? Do you know how much these big companies save by not paying payroll taxes and fair wages? Its basically slave labor. Or do you not realize this?
If people would come into this country legally and do hard work I would not mind. I have nothing against labor workers however it becomes a problem because they are treated horribly and honestly some jobs do not go to American Citizens or Residents because some company wants to save money. Do you think that's fair to abuse a worker who has no knowledge of the system because that person has no advantage. Do you think it's fair to have a job that might of gone to a American but some company doesn't want to pay a fair wage?
And yes we are hard working people and we have a great culture.
Mexicans are wanted in this country, when they come here legally like my great-grandparents did.
Seems illegal Mexicans are wanted in Quebec.
All of our problems are solved. Thanks Quebec. You can have all the illegal immigrants you want.
I AGREE.
just ignore those people who said or will say "well, they are criminals, they brokes the law." bunch of crap.
now what? the US can't send them all back to where they came from, it's impossible.
