Well, Im a U.S. Citizen and i want to live in Spain. And i Want to Know what do i need to do?

My boyfriend is a spain resident and he wants our 9 month old daughter and I to go live with him.....I want to go and live over there but dont want to loose my U.S. Citizenship....also i want to be legal over there...what do i have to do to be able to go to spain and live over there?

Answer:
easy buy a ticket and go there you won't never loose your citizenship just need to go to a border to check your passaport I think is once a year that need to be stamp thats all and when it comes to the time that need to be renew then you need to do it...In spain if you are an American citizen you cn get to live there legally they will give you a permise to be in the country I am not sure I think is 6 months the less and you have to go somewhere I mean to say just even the border of the next country to stamp your passaport and get back in thats all...I wil ecommend that you check with the Spanish offices what you can do to stay there longer then 6 months etc...Is how remember how works...I don't know now.
Talk to the Spanish embassy and follow their advice.
You won't lose your US citizenship for living in Spain. Unless you want to become a spanish citizen and Spain doesn't allow dual citizenship (I don't know) you won't have a problem. Because you are from the US it is probably really eassy for you because is not like you are going to stay there illegaly like the may think with someone from a third world country, so you just gotta talk to the embassy but I'm pretty sure is easy.
Leave as soon as possible. It will increase the intelligence levels in both countries.
